If you go the mongol way, it's definitely worth it, and very fun.

Mongols. And that would be Ilkhanate or Golden Horde. (You can recruit mongols troops from the mongol camps)

Well, we can't compare them, since the longbow is an infantry weapon, and the Mongol bow is on horseback.

I wanted to try to beat overwhelming AI forces by using a siege glitch:

After more than one hour of poking I started to hear full sentences spoken to me from the constant M&B's aaaRRryeeRrrra and monotony claimed victory over me:

All in all it was worth it, as it took me from 29th to 31th level!

I don't understand this bug... the attackers can freely pass the "invisible fence", but defenders no

It works for both attackers and defenders. It appears to AI as one-way wall. Defenders have spawn point there and that's why you would see most of them stuck. Here I was defending.

I always do this in desperate situations... one by one with my bow.
I also noticed that they cannot throw javelins or shoot direct to you.
