Hey guys. I recently got a new PC (about a week and a half ago)
Specs: http://imgur.com/a/Zqkqu
I installed Mount&Blade: Warband and launched it to edit my settings but was almost instantly greeted by the menu music having a terrible scratchy noise to it as if it's being played on an old time record but very scratchy. Loaded into a game after turning off music but even the FX had scratchy noise. Movement on the map, ambient noise in villages/towns, even when clicking on buttons.
I've looked everywhere for fixes; steam, reddit, friends but to no avail.
Here's a list of things I've tried so far to fix it.
-Update sound card drivers
-Update graphic card drivers
-reinstall the game
-restarting PC
-deleting the rgl_config file
-changing "use_winmm_audio = 1" to "0" in rgl_config
-plugging my headset into a different port
-turning off variable audio
-changing from DirectX9 to DirectX7 in the configuration of the game
-tried to turn off hardware acceleration on my sound card but found no option to do so
I came here as a last resort pretty much in hopes that anyone has encountered the same issue and found a fix.
