Sciences for high school

I am going into grade 11 next year and was wondering which two sciences I should take,

Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

what are your personal experiences and suggestions?

If you like math, definitely go for Physics. Enjoying Chemistry requires a school that can actually afford some lab equipment, so that has some potential depending on your area. I personally hated Biology, but I was very squeamish as a kid. (It's kind of sad how processing livestock can jade you to that.)

I went with Biology and Chemistry back then, and I don't regret it much.

You need to know roughly what you intend to do later in life, since these will pretty much pigeonhole you into certain areas. Physics and Chemistry is supposed to be a safe option that allows you to keep one foot in each boat.

Yeah, thats not really something to ask us about. Try asking a few Seniors, ask how the program was, and if the teacher was any good.

I went for all three, but in physics I only did the AP version. I enjoyed all three subjects, but my teachers were good.

I'm going to do Physics and Biology. Had my GCSE Physics exam today, and it was a doddle. Biology was the same, and I hope to do a Biology course in Uni. I'm hoping to use Physics as a substitute for Maths when I'm applying for Uni; I'll also need it for becoming a pilot.

It's not these choises I was offered (we didn't have to pick any science), but I took chemistry and physics. Chemistry has proven to be useless for me in my IT studies (though it and the couple obligatory courses of biology have helped in real life).

So it really depends where your interests lie. But in conclusion; everyone should learn physics.

Chemistry is basically a narrow band of electron interaction, biology is chemistry with a weird kind of sociology, so out of these, physics, it is the science part of the others and more.

If you are very good, maybe you can learn you GPU a thing or two...

Agreed partially, but knowing modern physics thoroughly would be of little use in knowing how cells multiply unless you had access to loads of data and loads of time. What I mean to say; It's worth while to study these "narrow niches" of physics if you are aiming for a path (career or otherwise) that makes use of them.

I've done both Physics 11, Chemistry 11, and Biology 11, and loved them all - the only downside was the teachers  - sometimes they weren't up to par.

The way I did it, I did Physics 11 in Grade 10, Chemistry 11 in the 1st semester of Grade 11, and am now finishing up Biology 11.

Defiantly physics, and chemistry if you can take 2. steer way clear of biology unless your into medicine or something like that for a career. Biology is a horrible filler subject (here in Aus at least)

I had physics, chemistry and biology. they all sucked.

Then your teachers sucked.
Or you did.

It's a shame that Biology is a filler subject in Australia, y'know - though I suppose it could be classified as the same here, as you just go through the Domains, specifying more with Kingdoms Plantae and Animalia, which you go through by Phylum. You also go through viruses and the immune system, but really...
