Are there any "in-depth" tutorials (assumed knowledge=next-to-nothing) that help you make a scene with collision meshes etc.?

Oh yeah, I don't mind if you don't reply, it's not like I have feelings or anything...

I don't know about feelings, but patience definitely doesn't seem like a strong point. Also, did you try to search for one?

Regardless, here one is by Yoshiboy:

I tried to follow it, but it assumes background knowledge, for example exporting an obj. file? It's not entirely sympathetic with dumbos like me.

patience definitely doesn't seem like a strong point.

Sorry, I've been trying to find a solution for quite a while. Even the most patient of people have their bounds.

What program are you using?

If it's wings, exporting to an obj is under

File -> Export -> Wavefront (.obj)

I've got wings, but I don't even know where to start when it comes to making scenes... are they made using the in-game edit mode? Because in .751 I can't insert objects for some reason.

Here's some backround you may want to try out before messing with scenes and collisions.

Hmm, yeah I tried that but it was confusing - at one point Yoshi wrote

Ok, at this point i am taking into account that you have already UV mapped your mesh and put it onto a new texture you have somewhere and all that is fine and dandy.

Unfortunately I didn't find this clear at all, and the fact that the term "meshes" was never thoroughly defined made the whole deal  convoluted.

A mesh, is simply a 3d Model.
UV mapping or unwrapping is the process taking the model apart so that it can be textured in 2D.

I wrote a tutorial on it here: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,11531.0.html

Honestly, we cant hold your hand through the process of getting models in game, you have to do some of it yourself. I suggest that you start with something a little simpler that new scenes. Or many even learn how to model

I've said it before. This isnt a modelling community, we arnt here you teach you all of the ins and outs of 3d modelling as well as modding M&B. Wings 3d just happens to be my prefered application and something people are able to pick up quickly so thats what i write about.

The whole of this thread is slightly demanding and whiney. I put alot of work into my tutorials, and i appreciate feedback and its good to know places where people are unsure about what they should be doing, so that i can improve that area. I know people appreciate my tutorials and thats why i right them even though they can be hard work but i do expect there to be some equal input from the student, its not hard to type a few keywords into google and find out what "UVmapping" is or what the term "mesh" means. In fact, why bother using google when i've written a more specific M&B modding and wings 3d UVmapping tutorial

I'm sorry, Yoshiboy - you're tutorials are fantastic and smack of your ingenuity in helping the lowly class of modders. I think the problem here was finding the tutorials you wrote - there should be a sticky or something. Thanks

Yeah, i appologize too, i dont like to have a go at people and i agree, tutorials are commonly quite hard to find but its a hard job organizing the mod forum, i'm glad i dont have to do it
