Scene prop not showing up in scene.

Users who are viewing this thread

It's solved now.
The problem was a misspelling in the module.

What I wrote in the module wasn't the same as in the brf.

Here is a pic of my new scene. NOTE: the skyscrapers are only placeholders 'till I make some new ones.

The original post below.

Now that I've got the hang of things with brf editor etc, I thought of something.

What if I made a new scene prop, in the seize of a scene?

I made a prop, that should be the ground.

However, the prop won't show up in the scene.
I've checked and double checked the brf and there is nothing wrong with it.

So I thought; Is there a maximum seize limit to scene props?

Is there a way to fix it or is there a workaround?

One thing I can think of is that if a prop crosses outside of the defined scene area, it will become invisible.  I saw this happen when I was mapping the corners of the area I was using.

If you put the object down, does it show up in the props list on the editor panel?  if so, select it and try scaling it down a lot.  also, where is the center of the object (origin)?  If it's in the center of the prop, you need to make sure that this appears in the center of the scene.  I think you should scale it down small and see at what point you can see it.  Also, you may have to exit and re-enter the scene.

I would instead make a few quadrant pieces (it would be great if they all would be connectable in any order, see the board game carcasonne), so you could make various scenes with the tiles you have.  Might also help with the texturing.

I tried to scale it down, heavily, but it didn't change anything.

I can see it in the prop menu so it is there. The center of the prop is in the centre of the map. I tried to move it up and donw and to flip it around but I still could not see it.

Yeah, I probably should make smaller objects just to make things easy. And as you said, the texturing will not be such a fuzz.

Neat-o, you're going to make a city scene? I seem to remember you were doing a zombie mod. Will pathfinding will work around those huge scene props?

Pathfinding will not be a problem. All that can be fixed with AI mesh.
The AI mesh determines wher the AI can walk and were it can't.
