Hi, I wanted to make my own settlement in wickedshots' mod but I just couldn't find a proper tutorial for the in-game ctrl+E editor...
Could you guys lend some advices? (or links, if I missed a topic)

Thanks!

Section 8, page 23.

There was a tutorial specifically for the in-game editor a long time ago. I'm not sure if it is still around, but I imagine most of it would still apply.

There is also a help button.  Just remember to have M&B in Windowed mode so the Edit Tool bar is visible.

Thanks keedo, thats exactly what I was looking for!
(simple enough for my brain to understand )

It takes a while to get used to the ingame editor (and the Module System, and every other aspect of modding) but you'll get there.  Stick with it, that's the main thing.  Patience is in some ways more important than brains - maybe even more important than good ideas.  Either way, it's a necessity.  Took me a month or two to actually know what I was doing (though you can still make good stuff, especially in scenes, without having to know exactly what you're doing).

Scene editing is one of the most fun parts of modding imo. Probably because it is visual. Actually looking at what you are adding as you are adding it is far interesting that staring at code for hours on end and then compiling and loading the game to see how it all turned out. Think of scene editing as a 3d art project.

Sorry - this is a bit off-topic - ...

... - but, is there any sort of visual editor for presentations???  Or does it all have to be figured out using obscene amounts of trial & error?

New question:
I'm trying to create a whole new scene and have completely cleared a Native village of everything; props, meshes, entry points etc...
Everything was going swimmingly until I tried to insert Entry point 0, which always inserts itself as Entry point 1. Now when I try to enter this scene to further edit, my character is in the 'Outer Limits' and cannot move. I always make sure it says '0' in the white box so I have no idea how to fix this...?

Edit-Actually the probelm of starting in the 'Outer limits' came after I re-named the Village in Module_parties but the Entry point problem remains.

Ok- it seems after you re-name and build. module, entry points go a little wacky but I've pretty much got it now. Still, those entry points are a fickle bunch!

Why don't you two just open a new thread for the question? Or ask in the mod makers questions&answers thread?

^^^Yeah, maybe I should have, I just don't like starting new threads if there is a similar one nearby^^^

Everything seems to be working ok, the only thing is I only want Entry points 0,1,5,6,7,8,9; but it seems I have to make a 2,3,4 as well and then delete them

Since I have started to make a few new scenes, I was wondering if there was a way to copy and paste in the editor.  I don't think I've seen anything on that, and when building castle walls that may have been scaled a bit, it would be a great benifit...

Ooh... That would be killer. I'm gonna check it out and come back.

No, doesn't work. Copying AI-meshes(the ones defining where the AI guys are supposed to walk) works, however.

Really?  You can copy/paste AI meshes, but not objects?  That blows!

Unfortunately soil is right (not saying you were wrong from the beginning).

I've tried for several hours now but I simply could not manage to copy an object.
Hopefully they'll fix that to the expansion.
