My hauberk is also flat ring rivetted. :fruity:

Edit: Put it all together and just gonna say, surprised how hard it is to turn my head. Didn't think a mail coif would resist twisting motion so much.

Time to invade Sicily.

You'd have more neck flex if you took out a few rows of rings. It looks like the rings are pretty packed around there. Maybe a tie section?

I don't know if there's a historical pretext for that, of course.
 
So i looked into it more. Rings in the coif are binding with the rings in the hauberk. If i just wear a surcoat or tabard over the hauberk that problem should be fixes. I can also use some bindings on the neck, that would help mobility too. I think period bindings depict ties on mail coifs to make them more form fitting.
