Saving and Mods

Ok, say i was to download a mod like...nightmare i think it's called, and save a game using it, what would happen when i tried to load this game. And, can i still play the normal game?

When you load the game nothing strange should happen. And you can continue playing an old file just fine (well, for that particular mod), but you can't use a file which had that mod if you remove it. Texture/item mods basically trap your file so that you can't remove things, only add.
