Nothing I could find on your FAQ mentions what to do about my savegames when upgrading? I've tried renaming the files to the new extensions and get the "obsolete" message when using RESTORE GAME.

We should not lose all that time and effort.

I'm sorry Daggar, but old save games are not compatable with the new version.

There are ways to get a new character into nearly the exact same situation as your old favorites. Cheats are easily enabled in the game ... that is the closest you can come to 'restoring' your old favorites.

Good luck and have fun,

yep.. that's one of the side effects of playing betas (and sometimes even non betas), but don't worry developing mighty new characters is a lot of fun! (at least IMO) ;)

Just pump him some exp if you dont like to fight with a new chara. Also the equipment in the chest should come handy. It usually has a good armor set and a decent enought weapon.

Yet, i think making a new chara with the new setting is alot of fun. I'd recommend at least giving a try.

Thank you all :) So far, your all a cut above the kind of negetive vibe one sometimes experiences on other forums. I enjoyed playing M&B a lot.

In fact, I've posted about M&B on my own project boards Frontier 1859 MMORPG Project and recommended people play it. A few of them have recently purchased the license. :)

You see, I've been in game dev. myself since early cartridge days, and now am focusing my efforts on raising funding to bring the spirit of the frontier west into your living room everywhere broadband is sold.

Mount & Blade is the closest thing I have ever played to how fighting while horseback riding should play. I think about running a Mustang on the plains with a lariat in my hand, roping cattle - or even a bow and arrow.

Thanks for the suggestions. When I get some more free-time, I'll start a new char.
