He asked for late Roman-Era Germanic Warriors not Pre-Romans and if you research enough you'll find that indeed Roman-Era Germanics are somehow linked to the Roman-Era Vikings of IV-V Century, so the picts are the closest we have to it.

If we'll be talking about Pre-Roman Germanic Tribes that's another story, they barely wore any protection at all and the weapons of choice were mostly 2H Axes and picks, they barely used any spears, the use of spears are predominately of Gaelic (Gaul) use, but we're talking about the Germanii not the Arvernii or the Aeduii.

Actually, the weapon of choice for Early Germans was the spear. Heck, they even had a special shortspear they gave to the newest warriors. Arvernii and Aeduii are Celtic Gauls and thus, belong in a whole different category than 1st Century Germans.
