I wish I could help you there Mno, but I don't have that problem either, never have. Have you considered a reinstall? Does it run slow in native? Did you tweak anything with TweakMB? If so, did you try it "clean"? I'm sure you've probably tried all or most of these things already, but I have to ask anyway .
About the next merge -
I'll be doing it sometime on Friday, I hope. For all you "out-landers", that would be Friday U.S. time.
(Out-landers being my way of saying "Anyone not in the same country as me", lol)
Edit: So.....apparently a new patch came out. Grab it, seeing as Diplomacy has already changed its code to go with it. >_<
Edit about the edit: Might just be a hotfix though, kinda like 1.124 vs 1.125, so it may work if you don't patch. But, I don't see any patch notes at this time, so I have no idea.
Okay, its 12:45 AM, so its not exactly Friday anymore, lol, but this is the first free moment I've had all day.
DP/PB Merge v2.7.1 with Tokashi's fix: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EHQKVAGW REQUIRES PATCH 1.127
Note-of-caution: I noticed a change in the number string under the Chamberlain in the troops.txt, I went ahead and left this change as it was small ("601" changed to "603"). Please let me know if this causes any problems related to the Chamberlain, or troop upgrade paths, so I can change the numbers back in my merge files and upload a fixed version. That said, I don't expect any problems.....hopefully.
patch 1.127 is a bit dodgy for me, I swear its another "quick" release and causes more problems. I uninstalled my M&B WB and installed 1.126 again. Even with the diplomacy fix, I get some dodgy sound problems.
I have both Nord and Swadian soldiers in my army. What combination of men would make the best siege assault force? In the open field the Swadian Knights seem to dominate.
You'll probably have to toy with the force makeup yourself, but I'll give you a very basic idea. Keep in mind I haven't played in quite awhile lol.
Theign and Huscarl units are good for your lead ranks, as they have thick shields to stop arrows/thrown weapons, they also have good health and damage ratings to bash through the defending line. Swadian Knights make a good lead or second rank as well, for similar reasons.
As for ranged and auxiliary, Swadian Crossbowmen are good shots, and the Nordic skirmishers are surprisingly deadly at medium to close range.
So basically:
First Rank: Nord Theigns and Huscarls
Second Rank & Third Rank: Swadian Knights & Skirmishers + "Filler units" (Other tiers of Nordic and Swadian Infantry)
Fourth Rank: Swadian Sharpshooters/Crossbowmen & Nordic Archers for good high rate scatter fire to help keep the enemy down while your Xbows take their sweet time
Thats the basic setup I'd suggest, you can work out the lineup to your tastes as you see fit. I use a mix of most or all the factions, so yeah. But for Swadian/Nordic, this is my opinion.
Note: Obviously you can't organize "ranks" of units entirely, but it was the best way to explain what I meant, so I hope I got my point across (Although you could always make custom groups, but still)
I merged Pike and Blade with Diplomacy 2.7.1 for M&B 1.127.
You can download it here:
http://www.quickfilepost.com/download.do?get=61d7f4366d0c97f20c97345b5451ff1b
Feel free to upload it elsewhere, I am not registered at megaupload/raphidshare/MBRepository or anything, so I'd appreciate it.
I tested it for 5 minutes, the transparent heraldry shields/armours are gone and I had a short battle with deserters (unit types from Pike and Blade) without any errors or weirdness.
Note that Pike and Blade is originally for Warband 1.13, and thus still uses the Troops.txt and Party_templates.txt from that version as it's base. This means it doesn't include any troop/party modifications done by Taleworlds in the patches after 1.13. As far as I know, Taleworlds didn't do much major changes in these areas though, so you probably won't notice it.

It was already merged if you just look 2-3 post up higher
Your merge is not save game compatible with all the OLDER merge games or Diplomacy native, you have completely moved the locations of the diplomacy units. I think that it was not a very clever move....
Yes, as Tokashi said, I already uploaded that version a couple posts above yours. MY version has the fixed files from Tokashi that doesn't screw up the Diplomacy NPCs and/or troop upgrade paths. As far as patch changes go, I've done my best to try and keep an eye out for these changes and leave them in when applicable. To my knowledge, I've kept all the changes, EXCEPT for troop changes, because obviously those don't apply to a mod that completely replaces the default troops.
I have no problems with people uploading to other sites and posting it, even though you don't need an account on Megaupload to do so, I understand that some people just prefer different options. If you'd like to upload my version to other websites and post the links, then thats fine. The uploads that I have been doing are, for all intents and purposes, supported by the community, therefore I'd prefer it if we stuck to my merges. That said, I certainly can't stop you, and wouldn't try beyond this little note anyway.
Though you are also welcome to do the merges as long as you use the fixes Tokashi provided, a page or three back I think, that would make our merges basically identical. Feel free to contact me for the most recent fixed files, as I have updated them a bit since the original post by Tokashi (due to patches and diplomacy NPC changes)
@hicisred: I still can't figure out why people want screen shots for this, that said, if you're playing the game, why don't you take them yourself? Use Xfire if you have it, or any other screen shot program. OR using print-screen and pasting into paint should work also. This post is not meant to be rude, but rather a suggestion, because I have no idea what kind of scene you'd want from a screen shot anyway lol.
Also, if anyone is wondering, TweakMB does partially work with 1.127 and this merge. See Spoiler for details.

Cattle Follow : Works
Factions Color : Works
Food Consumption : Seems to work
Merchant Money : Seems to work
Miscellaneous : Works (Mercenary Numbers, Stats Loss, Read Book, Mercenary Contract Length)
Right to rule : seems to work
Sieges : Seems to work (Tower speed not tested)
Skills : Works 100%
Tournaments : Works
Arena : Does not work
Reinforcement : works
Fief/Tax : does not work
Troop wages :works
Honor : works
Parties : Works (But not bandit spawn timer and unlimited heroes)
Prisoners : Works (but not how often you can recruit them)
Quests : Seems to work (But adding Guild Master and Village Elder does not... when clicked in game shows script error.)
Reputations : Works (Delivering Cattle does not)
Towns/Villagers : Works (But not Delivering Cattle)
One or two things listed as "Works" might be greyed out or non-functional for the merge, but that's because the above list is for native. Example: You can't change your own faction color again >_<
Uhh...using the Diplomacy merge you posted my Constable shows up in my Party....and one of my saves won't load, gives me a CTD and this error: RGL ERROR
Load Error: Invalid number of troops: 1065270716
This occurred after my game CTD'd when upgrading one of my troops. This game I was using was a native Diplomacy save which I had continued using with the Pike and Blade merge. Also, I had played the game with the merge for about 2 days before the crash occurred.
Well, I then loaded up my non-Native Diplomacy save--a save game I created specifically after I installed this merge--and my character was completely naked and level 1 (he was bald and had a weird face) and all of my companions were naked, and I had the Constable in my party as a hero........
So I'm unable to access my 530 day old game anymore and this new one won't work...meh.
I'll try creating a new-new game and see what is up...
[EDIT] Oh, and let me clarify, I think this is a main issue. I at first used Octavius's merge fix because he posted it in the Diplomacy mod section and I thought, hey cool, a new unit mod that works with Diplomacy. Well, I loaded up my 500-day old game with this merge by Octavius and noticed some small problems, such as the Constable in my party as a companion, but his name was "Swadian Pikeman", and my chamberlain, chancellor, and constable inside of my town were named after random Swadian troops. Ok, well because I was playing a realistic save game, I couldn't save without quitting, and just by entering a city my game auto-saved. Bah. Well, anyway I then found this other "proper" merge posted by Kogara, and deleted my Diplomacy folder and did a clean install of both. Everything was working fine, the chamberlain/constable errors were gone and the unit trees were working fine. I still had this random Swadian Pikeman in my party, however. I just thought I got a free companion (I could give him equipment and change skills) so I didn't bother trying to fix it. Well, one day later, my game crashes and now I have this error.
Also my new save that I made specifically for the Pike and Blade merge was created off of the first merge file posted by Octavius...so this could be the reason why that game is all messed up. But, it's weird because both games were working fine before the CTD earlier today. Now the other game is messed up and my other one won't load.
I assume the only solution is to create a brand new game with the merge created by Kogara and give the proper burial to my 530 day old game and mourn it. Thanks for any feedback and sorry for the long message, I'm an English major and I often find myself typing too much without realizing it.

First of all, that's ok, I end up doing the same thing when typing.
On to the main issue of the post.....well, that's a lot to comment on but lets cut to the core: I'm not sure which merge you're referring to, because mine works fine, been using it for awhile now along with roughly 50 other souls, at least. From what I read, it sounds like your problem was the save file. Generally, you have to start a new game, I don't know if a Diplomacy save works with this merge, but the general rule of thumb is to start a new save. Sorry, I know this sucks, but that's kinda just how it is.
That extra party member named Swadian Pikemen is no doubt caused by the messed up save, from what I understand in your post.
So, in-short: A new save using my merge should be bug free. Oh and by the way, I use no quitting without saving as well, so if there's ever a time where I need to exit without saving, I use alt-F4. Just a tip for any future endeavors.
I've been using winmerge to carefully examine and merge Diplomacy and P&B, meanwhile Tokashi has been kind enough to put up some fixed files to prevent the DP NPC's from showing up as Rhodoks, as well as keeping the upgrade paths correct when fixing that problem, so yeah, I suppose you could call this a "proper" merge, and I've been doing this since version 2.2, which doesn't seem like very long but, that was around June 19th, I think. I say "supported by the community" because I've received no complaints and a bit of praise, and Tokashi -- part of said community -- has given me a (big) hand a few times with said fixed files. Oh, and Aeon the creator himself approved of it so, its all good, haha .
Just a bit of back story is all, and to point out that I'm not some thread jacking psycho who wants to claim his merge is law >.>
Anyway, welcome to our little corner of the community, I hope everything goes well with your new game, please feel free to come back if you have any questions or problems . I usually check this page at least once a day, so....yeah.
Sorry this post is a bit messy I'm typing in a hurry, and I also apologize if I sound like a desk clerk.
Edit: I finally realized what Octavius was saying in his post, near the end. (So I'm slow today, oh well) My version technically uses the up-to-date party_templates.txt and troops.txt from Diplomacy, I just replaced the changed troops, etc. As for the party_templates.txt, the only change that Aeon did really was change the reinforcements (Rate and size, I think?) so I simply make those changes manually, leaving the rest of that file alone. SO if any changes are made in patches or otherwise, to the party_templates.txt or troops.txt, those are applied to my merge, unless they have to do with the balancing of Native troops, because obviously that doesn't apply to this mod.
Make sense?

Alright, that's what I assumed. Thanks for the feedback and explanations good sir. I look forward to using this mod still...I do love the new troops. I just wish I could have exported my character at least, but I guess it isn't too hard to edit that little text document anyway.
Made a fresh and clean uninstall/install. With registries fixed. Patched to 1.127 and grabbing this mod now. As I do like those extra types of units!
And as I've read, this is the 1.127 proper version, meaning this one uses the fixed khergits and mamelukes etc. etc., right? Because you used the troops from Diplomacy, aka 1.127 updated troops. *Yes, read the thread some more*
Gonna check it anyway. This mod should get it's own board though...
