Factions

Kingdom of Italy
Kingdom of France, basically completed.
Kingdom of England, completed though small changes are possible.
Kingdom of Rus
Mongol Khanate
Arab Sultanate.

Factions are stereotypes of their origin, so they're not named more accurately, for example Arab Sultanate could be Ayyubid Sultanate, but in this mod it is not.

Here's some information about factions:

Arabs: Good archers, good cavalry, medium infantry.
Mongols: Not significant changes to native khergits, except footman branch which is somewhat medium compared to other factions footmen.
French: Medium archers, unique scout units, good cavalry and medium infantry.
England: Best archers, good but not-so-numerous cavalry, excellent infantry.
Italy: Medium cavalry, excellent infantry and crossbowmen.
Rus: Good archers, medium cavalry, medium infantry.

Closed beta version has looters replaced with bandit parties, which have: peasant rebels, peasant rebel macemen, bandit archers, brigands, ambushers and robber knights.

Known bugs: French Spearmen upgrade from French Recruits, when they should upgrade from Infantry. Fixed in my version, and will be fixed in next update. fixed in 0.120.

Mercenary Master Archers don't have bows. Will be fixed in next version. Also, Mongol foot archers miss their bows too, will fix that too...

Later I'll change all names of kings ( maybe even lords) cities and castles ( maybe villages). I'll try to keep them at same timeline, something between 1200-1300, but if I don't find all guys from that timeline, I'll use the ones I find.

Note: Some troops should have horses, but in that picture they don't have. Troops in picture: French Spearman, French Pikeman, French Royal Knight, Arab Elite Mamluke, Viking Sharpshooter, Italian Sniper, Rus Elite Cavalry and Mongol Bodyguard.
 
Subject is not very unique, that's right, but for the time being I must use game's items, until I get texturer, or until I start making items myself.

Edit: First Alpha comes when I get upload in mbrepository, asked for it today. First Alpha has: 9 (one mercenary) new troops, factions ( not yet properly redone)
and renamed armours, for example Sarranid elite armor has been changed to Arab elite armor. Also all troops have been renamed, though they've not been customized yet.
 
Who wouldn't? I'll change it when I get better name for them. How about Nordic Kingdoms?

And no, there isn't any new items in this version. I'll start modeling tomorrow.

mmh, i thought something similar. no offense intended, but your mod idea isn't far away from the great 1257 AD mod that's already developed. maybe joining forces with othr and the gang might be an idea?
 
Maybe I am not good enough for them? This is my first mod, and I can't texture/model/make scenes yet.


In the other news, geewilliam has joined team as mapper/miscellanous.
