Nice work . You're my hero!

If you get tired of Britain and want to travel south for sun and women and castles... Spain is your place .

any mods using it yet?
I think someone asked permission to use it (which isn't necessary) but I forgot who.
Right now I'm working on scenes for Brytenwalda so check that thread.

Yes, that wasn't very useful
Seriously, it would be interesting to make a simple castle consisting of a big mansion with a large garden surrounding it,
only fortified by small garden walls, creating chokeholds so it would still be possible to defend against odds.

This is largely what Goltho was, I was looking at the map last night and it was literally a wooden hall with some small outbuildings and a ringwork. It's so peculiar because fortifications pre-Norman were thought to be non-existant. Still thought of in the context of Lincolnshire in the Danelaw I should think whoever owned it would want to make sure no bugger could get in, and earthworks had been used in England for a long ass-time.

Please make us an iron age hillfort. That would kickass.

EDIT: Our lecturer took us to this motte on a field trip, wikipedia claims it's Norman but I'd tend to believe my lecturer over wikipedia! I know for a fact this was the most likely place for the seat of power for East Anglian kings. And its HUGE! Perhaps they weren't so different after all!

PS: Sorry for the random posts, love your work and keep thinking of things when I'm doing my studies!

I would love to do an Iron Age hillfort - the simple geometry and crude fortifications fascinate me,
(and that's why I'm working on Brytenwalda (Britain anno 632)).

And now that the patch is here I can release the last 3 castles. But I'm still testing and adjusting a little here and there (and is 1.124 stable yet, I'm not sure).
So this weekend - maybe tomorrow - I'll release 1.1 with Beaumaris, Llansteffan and Conwy Castles.

My lecturer would love you! I just applied to test for Brytenwalda before I saw this! Figured I should reply because I updated my post literally as you were posting haha!

Hmm, I wouldn't call 1.124 stable, personally.  Maybe someone had more luck with it than I did.

Yeah, I've also had some 'issues' with 1.124 so far
I just don't want people reporting bugs/crashes that are not related to these scenes.

Version 1.1 is now released and includes the 3 latest castles

Llansteffan (Cookies for anyone who can conquer it  )
Beaumaris
Conwy

Necro!

Maybe it's a little late, if so, I am sorry. But I would love to see what you can do with Beeston Castle.

Wow, that's a real beauty! If I ever return to this project that's certainly a candidate - and should be possible with native items.

I sent you some designs via pm yes? you should receive them... They range from 1070-1090 I do believe.

Hello!

I hope you dont mind me posting here.

You inspired me, so i've started building or remodifyng castles just a few days ago myself.
Here is my progress so far:
castle2.jpg

was originally tevarin castle, made it SP friendly etc, should be a real ***** for an enemy to siege it:smile:

Im open for any suggestions regarding what to do next, ill probably remodel another castle and then start one from scratch.

P.S. If anyone got unique objects to build with, id love to have them:smile:

Nice, it looks like a very broad ramp so at least 2 besiegers can stand side by side. Shouldn't be too hard to conquer
Nice touch with the 'balcony' on the tower to the right. A good spot for taking down troops on the ramp with ranged weapons.

Wow I cannot believe how awesome these are! Really well done, I'm impressed! I actually recently did a recreation of a historic castle in Ireland, Trim. I'm glad to see someone else doing similar stuff!

Also, I'd love you forever if you told me how you got the sky to be overcast. Been wanting that in my multiplayer maps for AGES.
