[S] Historic Castles Project - the British Isles [Released for Warband]

Users who are viewing this thread

The problem you have is with the terrain. You must copy the terrain code (blue text) as shown in the above post.

Remember there is a readme text with the mod showing the number of the castles:

Thank you for downloading Historic Castles Project 1.2

These scenes/castles are intended for modders creating mods that include the British Isles from the years circa 1066-1400.
But anyone can install them easily. I suggest the following:

INSTALLLATION:
1. Make a backup of the sceneobj folder in native or the mod in which you want to install this.
2. Put the files in the sceneobj folder and click yes to overwriting

UNINSTALL:
- Put the files from the 'backup sceneobj folder' that you made in step 1. back in.

Here's a list of the files and what native castles they will replace:

Fan...frickin'...tastic!!! The castles you made are awesome adorno. I just add these for your perusal. The Viking Ring Fort
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_ring_fortress

They didn't hold up well to time since they were wood but you can probably see some similarities. Just before 1066 these went out of style apparently.

I know this mod is finished, but it would be cool if you added Bodiam Castle. Its a bit out of time period, but i been there, and i live in the US (not many castles here) So it would be cool to fight in a castle i have been to.

You have epic scene making skills! keep up the good work Adorno you legend. Are you any good at changing the way sieges work in general? would be awesome if you could make your men put ladders on the wall and stuffbut warband will never be capable of that will it... maybe mount and blade 2 will

your castles are great, if you want some new ideas for new castles, here are some: Kyburg (switzerland)

I don't know how to change the AI, and that's mostly what's needed to make sieges more interesting.
The AI can't distinguish between open and closed areas (whether ladders are up or down, or a gate is closed or open etc.),
We can hope for improvements in M&B2.

sorry how can I use this castles to change other castles like Jelbegi or Curin?
For example, I want to use Motte & Bailey castle that has replaced Tevarin Castle, to replace also Jelbegi castle, for example. How can I do it??
Thank you and sorry for my bad english.

I suggest this.

1. Copy the .sco file called castle_23_exterior (that's Tevarin) and rename it castle_36_exterior (that's Jelbegi).
2. Put the castle_36_exterior file in the sceneobj. folder and click yes to overwriting.

3. Open the 'scenes' text file and find this line:
scn_castle_23_exterior castle_23_exterior 256 none none 0.000000 0.000000 100.000000 100.000000 -100.000000 0x00000002300658bc0007bded000025520000093800006114

The text in blue is the terrain code. Copy that and find the line:
scn_castle_36_exterior castle_36_exterior 256 none none 0.000000 0.000000 100.000000 100.000000 -100.000000 0x000000013007b2630005695c00001ebe0000028e00007e37

Paste the terrain code over so it looks like this:
scn_castle_23_exterior castle_36_exterior 256 none none 0.000000 0.000000 100.000000 100.000000 -100.000000 0x00000002300658bc0007bded000025520000093800006114

Save the file! That's it.

Now the game knows what scene to load and how the landscape/terrain should be.
Note that it doesn't change the interior scenes (lord's hall and prison). I did not change those.

Adorno another question.... how can i know wich code has each castle?

In parties.txt you can see the number of each castle. And in scenes.txt the castle has the same number.

So in parties.txt you find castle_23 Tevarin
and in scenes.txt you find castle_23. The terrain code there is for Tevarin castle.

Wow these castles are really amazing. Mind if I ask what program you used to make this? I've been thinking about making my own scenery but don't really know where to start.

The game has a built in edit mode so no special program is needed.
When launching the game go to 'configure' > 'advanced' > 'enable edit mode'.
Then start the game and go to a scene. Now press ctrl + E and you're in edit mode.
Enter windowed mode with (left) alt + enter.
Now to the left of your screen you have the tools needed to edit a scene.

This thread has pretty much all you need to know about editing scenes.
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,163368.0.html
It's surprisingly simple - so simple  that even I could figure it out

(you should back up the sceneObj folder of whatever mod/native you're editing.
Or simply copy the mod/native folder and make a test mod where you can go crazy).
