What new Units would you like to see in Future Updates ?

Hey man
love what your doing here, sucks about saved game compatibility though. I'll still dl and play a new game though. Maybe for sarranids you could add an elite infantry unit like the Persian immortals or something.

Not much you can do to the khergits though, infantry doesn't suit them

Yeah i can do that but then it should be at maximum right now I have 43 new units and i think its pretty much maximum but on for Sarranids i could do one I guess
 
i added one Sarranid unit

Its Called Sarranid Warrior and can be upgrade after Sarranid Infantry


Have to give it a sword though :- )
 
So you basically just took a bunch of unit names from MTW2, and put them ingame with the best equipment you could find.

The Khergit levy spearmen have the best Khergit armor in the game, as well as every other unit type? And there's a horse archer unit with a charger.

Does it matter that much ?
I already renamed the units so it doesnt look that much from MTW2.
I might give the Dvor cavalry units a normal War Horse instead but im not realy finished yet with all the things but soon aswell as removing the armor from the Khergit Spearmen.
I dont think i overestimated it with the Armor from some units and its not like they all have highest Tier Armor and the best Weapons.

 
I think it's a bit odd that you included the names from actual ethnicities in your mod (Like the Rhodok Swiss Guard), but most of your changes seem really nice. Also a bit strange you pretty much took MIITW names, but eh.

I also have to say that SOME posts in this thread pissed me off to no end.

SEEING as a huscarl was a house-friend (that's what the name means) and a hirdsman was a member of the hird, which pretty much was the General's Bodyguard to keep with TW terms, hirdsman would be synonymous to huscarl. Both types of soldier could very well have been riding a horse if the situation needed it and if they could afford it (or if their lord provided for them), furthermore; Huscarl was more of a Norse term, and Hirdsman more of a Saxon one.

You are Scandinavian yourself yet you so stupidly suggest 'Norse War Clerics' to be renamed to Berserker? You may not have seen the picture when he posted, but seeing as 'berserker' is a much more well-known term than "Norse War Cleric" it's pretty safe to assume he did not mean some crazy fellow wearing a few animal skins, because if he did he would have use the term 'berserker'. Your book is right that VIKINGS, i.e. the ones going on raids, didn't use horses, but the Scandinavian kingdoms themselves did. Especially of course if they intended to conquer in stead of just raid. If you are conquering in Europe then soon you also steal some horses, and not every horse was turned into a string of sausages, the conquering forces were smart enough to know the value of pack- and riding animals and it is not illogical at all that some also took to the fight on horse. Especially if a leader is riding a horse, he's probably gonna like his guard (i.e., his Huscarls or Hirdsmen) to use horses as well.

I find it impressive that the longbow is as long if not longer then the character. How do they fire it i wonder.
 
... have you even played Warband?  If so, have you ever noticed Nord Scouts? If yes, why won't you shut the **** up?

Anyway, iirc there were indeed horsemen in 8th-9th North Germanic cultures although, iirc, many of them were the normal foot warriors and only used their horses for transportation and for riding down routing enemies.

Which, of course, brings up the recurring question of why the hell are the Nords 4-5 centuries behind every other faction :???:
 
They'd be a poor man's Swadia, yes.

To make things more interesting they might be split into smaller states warring for sovereignity.

/adds that to things I want to put in epic mod I'll never get around to doing :razz:
 
I think its solid work and he deserves praise for his efforts regardless if it fits your preferences or not. Lets encourage him to continue perhaps he will be producing more units to your liking.

Been testing it all the time so it took me alot of time before uploading it and well if there is any bug/problem or you think that its unbalanced please give me reports so i can fix those things.

Right now im working on new items specally Armor and Weapons and gonna put that in a future update in there aswell
 
as for Save Game compatible it can work with an older savegame but you need to make sure to wait some time on the map aswell as that you havent edited any other units in the troops.txt before and you might need to hire new recruits to see the effect.
The new units wont get updated in most cases on an older savegame and showing wrong or getting wrong updated.
I would prefer to go into debug mode and see if all works on the existing savegame

now im in a dilemma :sad: I wanna start a new game and dont know wich faction to choose lol they all attractive now :sad:

also if you wanna see more Higher Tier units from AI Lords, castles and towns i suggest you look at this tweak from The Mage Lord
