Running Multiple Versions On Steam

I bought the original mount and blade years ago then warband then I lost my warband key so I just bought it as a steam gift on G2A.

It works fine but is version 1.6whatever and to play warband enhanced I need 1.43.

I downloaded that version and installed it in program files x86 and went to activate it with the key steam gives me when I click "view cd key" (a 4x4 key) but i just get activation denied every time. I tried manual activation and it successfully gave me an activation code but still activation was denied.

Can someone please explain how to activate this version or provide a crack or something so i can play warband enhanced? Thanks in advance.

Weird, if you have the game installed on Steam, your computer should be already registered and you shouldn't be asked for a CD-Key.

I thought it might not ask me too but it does. I tried copying the 1.143 files into steamapps but it still wanted me to activate and still wouldn't let me. This sucks balls, all I want to do is play an old version.
