running mod

Hi, i just downloaded mount and blade of of steam and it is a great game,but i downloaded the custom battlemod and i extracted it to the desktop but i dont know where to go from here.

Put it in the modules folder where you installed M&B.

how do i find the modules folder

Oi...

Harddrive\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\mount and blade\Modules

... for mods. The ...\mount and blade\ folder for any mods that edit your primary game... and then ...\mount and blade\Modules\Native ... for the native game.

By the way, search Steam and Mods and you'd have found that install path. But I'm a nice guy.

You don't need to. Just go to "Computer", then "C" (or whichever drive you installed to) then follow the folders to get to the modules folder.

ok i found the modules folder and i put the custombattle folder in it but it doesent do anything to my game.

Run the game. In the launcher, where you press "Play Mount&Blade" look up. There's some text that says "Current Module", next to that is a box that will currently say "Native". Native is the normal game. Clicking on that box will give you a drop down list of mods you have installed. Select the one you want, then press "Play Mount&Blade". That simple.

ok thankyou,but i have run into a new problem, when i try to start it a screen comes up saying unable to open Modules/Custom battle/ action txt

Either you've installed it wrong... or the file is corrupt (or not working properly). Contact the mod developer on correct installation directions and how to resolve the problem.
