Bottom line, the mod is great, but many of the people who play it are pathetic.  The mod gives every opportunity for trolls to come in and kill people that are unarmed, and that's just plain stupid.  Killing people that are just getting enough money to buy equipment is just lame, and it makes people quit.  The lion server went from 40 people to 6 people earlier today because people were killing the unarmed miners and they were leaving.  I can see why. Having to run all the way across the map to go back to mining because some loser who can't get kills on Native has to slash at unarmed people makes no sense, and it takes away from the game experience.

And to the guy who says killing unarmed people is more realistic, you are a complete idiot. In real life you don't start as a fully grown man with 1000 gold, in real life you cannot take a spear to the chest and still run away to a bed that heals you in 20 seconds, in real life there are things like gravity and momentum.  So stop trying to compare the game to real life, you are just making yourself look stupid. This is a game. Your quote says it all:

So wait, you got mad that he killed you while you were unarmed so you made it a point to kill him several times (while he was unarmed) until he quit the game.  This makes you a complete hypocrite. This does not contribute to the gameplay at all.

LAST PERSON, honest. i know many other dumb ****s who don't know the nature of this mod will come in thinking killing unarmed people is dumb and not in the nature of the mod, but i'll tell you anyway. you are WRONG. this is a mod that in a sense, encourages what you call 'trolls'. actually no, you can shove it, it's not called trolling, it's not even called griefing, it's called playing the mod the way it was made to be played. you can't tell me it wasn't made to be played like this; it was made for everything. for all you little girls who want to 'roleplay' as 13th century ballerinas, and for all the bandits who want to kill people on sight. made for everything, for everyone. there are unlimited possibilities.

so don't even bother trying to tell me people who kill unarmed people are stupid, or that it's lame, because in the end you're just another crybaby, one of many who've come to this forum and whinged, telling us their stories of how they got killed by bandits.

I really hope you are telling the truth, and you don't read this, because I didn't write that message for you, you are a complete fool, and your rambling on this message board makes that clear.  That said, I know you will read this, even though you might not reply because you said that you wouldn't. I did not come here to cry, or get emotional over a video game or what some stranger said in the forums (as you obviously do). I merely came here to give my input on why more people don't play this mod, and how it can be improved. Just as the original poster attempted to do.

And for the record, I never made any mention of bandits.  I was referring to people wearing faction/neutral colors killing the unarmed.  Most servers explicitly say that bandits are allowed to kill unarmed, so wtf are you talking about?

This allows people to gain weapons, and the RP works a lot better. Personally I'm for rules, it is the only way to stop trolls, as you called them. How used expects players to do anything if there are people camping the armouries and the mines is beyond me, but don't worry because the mod is built for you, the mod is apparently built for everyone including perpetually angry, misogynistic children like Used.

I've got to say man, you're pretty much dead wrong. If the servers are set up right, there will be no reason to kill unarmed players. The next patch will also go some ways into addressing these problems, and you won't have far to go across the map unarmed. In my opinion, there is NO REASON at all to have admins enforcing these rules. If you're getting pissed off because someone's killing unarmed people, get yourself a posse and hunt the bastard. It's roleplay, and he's roleplaying a douchebag. Deal with it.

Again, the next version will give plenty of incentive to do things other than camp armories and the mines.

There is more then 1 place to buy weapons, each castle has an armory, one of the boats has weapons you can buy, there is usually no one around the boats. The village is the most obvious place to get killed while trying to buy a weapon.

This is really quite simple: leave the rules to the server.
If the server doesn't have rules and you want rules: switch servers.
If you can't find any, start your own server.
