You know when you conquer a castle or city with blood and sweat with your party on your own and it goes to some other guy because.......
I mean I understand why we can`t have every castle immediately for ourself as vassal.

Then you take a "vacation" deep inside friendly territory crafting along some fine blades. After fast forwarding a week or so during that you decide to go back into action. Incidentally while you still wonder what to do since we are at peace war breaks out. Your new enemy is on the other side of the map, half way there your faction took 2 citys in one day with a few in-game hours between. Sitting on your lousy 500-600 influence you throw in some few influence on the vote, thinking "whatever"
The ruler decides both city are yours now after a 20/40/40(me) vote.

I think different factions should start with different laws enable. A national vote to give a noble seems wrong in many cultures, lets say sturgians take a castle, only those who assault the castle should be able to decide and only those who fought in the battle should be candidates (not just 3 candidates pls) while the imperial system has more arguments for a heated debate for a long time over what general should carry the duty and honor of protecting said fief.

We also need feast back to decide these things.

I can`t be entirely sure about this but I am almost certain lord and nobles which didn`t take part in a siege with their partys are often up for vote to own the castle or city.
I agree it should at least take part with participants or could be down to influence for empire factions, although I am not entirely sure if different systems is good for the game. I can say I don`t enjoy the process of voting at the moment much.
For one it seems a bit pointless to have a vote when it is nullified anyway which is just a bit odd. Second I think it is heavely based on influence. With the current system it is really difficult to accumulate alot of influence. You are going up against clans with 1000, 2000 or 4000 influence once the campaign progressed. So you could try to save your influence which means you don`t reall take party in voting for laws and castles anyway, or you spent your few points what seems to be a pointless effort most of the time.
On top of everything your relationship goes down alot with almost everybody given enough time. There are at least two angry about your decision, one happy, have enough clans be up for vote over time everybody dislikes you at some point. So you are better of not voting on anything?
I wonder if the AI-ruler gets negative relationships by overruling the outcome or making any decsion in the first place? Not sure about this. I also wonder what the impact for the AI would be having negative relations towards you?
Does it have any significant disadvantage for the AI?

I honestly don`t know how to change the system but it isn`t very good at the moment. A cut-clear majority vote wouldn`t really fit the game and you most likely could game the system in some way I assume, which isn`t good either.

Yeah I understand the frustration. I've been with Battania forever, and a lot of lords hate me. I was gifted a castle. Meanwhile some Sturgian lord joins, given 4 castles and was HIGH on the list for city.

This all conjecture, however it may come down to;
A) number of fiefs you currently own.
B) your relationship with other lords.

I say this as one of my vassals always seems to lose his fiefs and he becomes the first pick for most of the other lords.
I, as the ruler have 5 fiefs and not once have the other lords put me up for election.

don't forget ruler traits, Í'm sure these also play a role in the policies and castle sharing

I think nominations has to do with ruler preferences, sometimes tied to lords with fewer resources or sometimes the ruler himself if he is greedy.
As a vassal you fight for your lord, you swore loyalty to the ruler and put your sword and resources at his service as the true ruler for Calradia. You should be pleased with his decisions as you have given your word! Maybe your character is devious and selfish and gave false word to the ruler to have fast access to nobility and are planning some kind of conspiracy to get even more power and take over the Kingdom. That's a fair RP but the kingdom managemet don't go that far in the Early Access.

Right now kingdom mechanics are incomplete, we should check this kind of details once they are finished.

You shouldn`t take the game all too serious for now! As far as I know early access phase is planed to continue for about a year? There is going to be alot of testing, placeholders and experimenting going on at the moment.
