Ah, yes, rugby. (Oh, erm I decided to start this thread seeing as there are a couple of people who came out of their shells and admitted they like rugby,see easyness and girls of your country thread.)

Beautiful game it is, my rugby team (South Africa, The Springboks,etc.) have come back from being 6th last year, then won the Tri-Nations last year (contested between South Africa, New Zealand and Australia) and are now 2nd this year!(1.95 points behind New Zealand)

BTW New Zealand is the only respected side over here, you genuinely do have a good rugby team. We DO NOT like the Aussies though, bunch of whiners who always collapse the scrums and your commentators are biased, and we beat you on your own soil

Anyway, imo, NZ look set to win the Tri-Nations this year, and I don't think that we will beat the All-Blacks at the House of Pain (Carisbrooke, Dunedin)

So without further ado, I declare this Rugby discussion thread, *cuts ribbon* open!

The New Zealand team is respected because they kick arse. No other reason.

The all blacks have great history, right now there not on the top of there game. England however much you hate to admit are probably the strongest team at the moment and have been over the last year or so. Wales have always been pretty good too.

Great sport, i dont watch it much but i did used to love playing it. hooker or prop was my position back in my school days.

I used 2 play until 18 weeks ago got a hospital pass and ripped my anterior cruciate ligament.Now I can barely walk till i get surgery word of warning kids dont play rugby

The only thing I know about rugby is that the regulation helmets look the way they do because one of the most frequent injuries was ear removal.

I've never heard of people having their ears taken off, but people in scrums tend to end up with ears that look like this:

While I do imagine that cauliflower ear would be more common, I seem to remember reading about ear removal in one of those "completely useless facts" kind of things. Something about when everyone is all together and they are trying to grab the ball and somebody would get a handful of ear instead.

Not like I am an expert anyway.

Erm, the welsh are good, yes. But England? They used to be, did rubbish in the Six Nations this year. They have a long improvement road ahead of them.

Rugby isn't a rip-off, it is merely American Football in perfect form.

Rugby was actually started from football (soccer for you Americans/Australians) when William Webb Ellis picked up the ball and ran with it.

Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling wouldn't be that bad if they wore something else than that horrible tight suit.

Submission wrestling is much more interesting, but most people have never heard about it, and those who have, find it even more gay because of some of the common positions.

Everytime I'm in the netherlands, woman come up to me: saying: you are hot! you are cute! your scars turn me on etc...
(it's a shame Belgian girls aren't so quick to speak their mind, otherwise they'd do the same thing)

I'm not trying to impress Llandy, Temujin, She's older than me, and if it was a noob who posted the usual of "I love this game" thread, I would normally be the first there to welcome them, just so they would feel more welcome before you guys start pounding down on them (ask sexymusicman if you don't believe me)
