My router is a Tenda W150D ADSL 2/2+.
We got it about 3-4 years ago, and it came highly recommended from a tech-savvy friend because our last router was fried in a thunderstorm. Apparently that can't happen to this one but meh. Anyways, it used to be pretty good, no problems whatsoever. Then it started disconnecting randomly, and eventually disconnecting regularly. Then that stopped happening.
Except it's started doing it again. I'm counting around every 1 hour to half hour mark it outright disconnects for 2-3 minutes then connects again with no problems.
I'm no maestro with networking, and I don't understand any of the terms you all might be acquainted with so can anyone tell me if there is a way to fix this and how in a step-by-step fashion?
I'm also not entirely sure if this is a router problem. Our friend suggested it was a bad line but I don't think that makes any sense at all considering most of the time it is connecting fine and it was working fine before? Would a new router fix this problem?
