Rome at War: Music

Users who are viewing this thread

Thank you all for the good feedbacks!

And now if you guys want soundtracks to the mod, download the Music Dlc in the OP! Just drag it to the RaW folder! ^^

Mind helping a nub out? No matter how many times I try, the native music keeps playing, not the RaW add-on.

Mind explaining exactly what to put where?
There's so many native tracks that they tend to play anyway. Also, when you extract the zip, select the music file and folder and cop-paste-overwrite them into your RaW 2.3 main folder.

May i ask you: what program you use to compose these tracks?

I use Cubase 5 for recording. And for the instruments I use Kontakt 5, Session strings pro, Action Strings, Damage and Massive

Hi Theretor!  I think that your music DLC is essential to take full advantage of this wonderful mod.

I've found some links about hellenistic music that maybe can give you inspiration for future compositions:

This site contains all published fragments of Ancient Greek music which consist of more than a few scattered notes. All of them are recorded under the use of tunings whose exact ratios have been transmitted to us by ancient theoreticians (of the Pythagorean school, most of them cited by Ptolemaios). Instruments and speed are chosen by the author. The exact sound depends on your hard- and software.

some fragments in the bibliotheca Augustana:

I'd really like to see some units of (di)auletai and tibicines  in the near future, maybe that accompany the movements of the army formations.

another crazy thing would be to see animations and sounds on the drum during naval battles. I think, however, that the trireme will become part of this project with Bannerlord

Necro?
Anyway, great music theretor. It's very suiting to the entire theme of the mod (plus it's just really nice in general).

I found a website with some of the instruments used in antiquity:
http://www.trinoxsamoni-lutherie.fr/stringwindtrinoxsamoni.html

Since I like the Celts, I wanna point out the instruments that would be used by them out of the ones on the website:
http://www.trinoxsamoni-lutherie.fr/galliclyreateliertrinoxsamoni.html Gallic Lyre
http://www.trinoxsamoni-lutherie.fr/bonefluteateliertrinoxsamoni.html Bone Flute (it was used in Europe since the Paleolithic era).
http://www.trinoxsamoni-lutherie.fr/overtonefluteateliertrinoxsamoni.html Overtone flute (used by pastoral communities, though it was more common in Scandinavia and Easter Europe)
http://www.trinoxsamoni-lutherie.fr/recorderateliertrinoxsamoni.html Recorder, its usage has been common since ca. 35,000 years ago (according to the website) although became more advanced as the ages went on.
http://www.trinoxsamoni-lutherie.fr/panfluteateliertrinoxsamoni.html Panflute, which was obviously used by the Greeks and apparently a similar form was used by the Celts.

The website also has some other instruments, although most are Germanic.

Damn.. Havent checked this topic for ages... Absolutely beautiful suggestions lads!

Before I start on a new celtic or hellenistic soundtrack, I must first make the Etruscan Theme (Which I forgot to make... Sigh silly me..)

But Germanic Celt and EFREM, you two gave me some ideas thanks to your suggestions, thank you.

And glad you two like the soundtracks! ^^

P.S

Sorry for having not made a soundtrack since December...

Didn't you try make one, but it turned into an epic Sicillian soundtrack (Blood on Sicillian sand)?
Anyway, can't wait to see (well, hear) your next creations

Ah true, I felt it didnt suit the mighty and proud Etruscans

I'll most likely do it this weekend, I've had a week with internet constantly crashing and it got fixed today, it took the techs three attempts to fix it, I could probably have fixed it myself but that way it was free  :fruity:
