Yeah. Looks almost like a cheaper sequel to Kingdom of Heaven. With Russel instead of puny Blood. I'm intrigued for now. 
Braveheart, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, 1612 everything in one film and set in... Sherwood, maybe.

Filmed on a beach near here. I think I was more interested in spotting scenes shot on Fresh West than in what Scott is doing with the story.

He was supposed to play the sheriff. Then they decided that was probably too heretical.

yeah it says he was originally gonna play both, the sheriff would have suited him more i reckon, he just doesn't look like a robin hood, he might do a good job still, let's wait and see...

Heh, I'm not too familiar with the legend, but this looks too melodramatic and serious for Robin Hood.
I mean I picture Errol Flynn or a talking red fox when I think of Robin Hood.

robin hood prince of thieves with kevin costner was easily the best one, as for it looking too serious, that's not always a bad thing, look how much better the newest james bond films with daniel craig are compared to the pierce brosnan ones...

definitely, prince of thieves is an excellent film, i watched men in tights not long since and it isn't as good as it used to be, still funny though...

Personally when I saw the trailer in theaters I was jumping out of my seat because until that last screen I could have sworn it was an add for a Viking Movie by Ridley Scott... which would rock.
Still... Kingdom of Heaven is one of my favorite films of all time, this'll be good. Would still be better if it was a viking movie...
