The latest patch 0.701 (0.702?) has (according to rumors, i havent tried it yet  ) removed the armour skill. Is it positive or negative iyho?

For ****s sake, it doesn't matter! First there's a dozen bastards crying about having it, now you lot are 'kinda disappointed' when it's gone. It was there for a week. I think the scars will heal.

well i liked it very much as it kept my demoversion merchant from being a wannabe knight. It didn't hurt.

I would be in favor of an armorer skill that helps you repair damaged armor, but that would require that armor get damaged over time

But for the current state of affairs, armor should impart some sort of movement and agility penalty depending on how heavy the armor is. Specifically, it should affect how fast you can walk/run and how fast you can swing a melee weapon (and ultimately the damage you do). These penalties can be overcome by increasing one's strength, agility, and athletics accordingly.

IMHO, I think athletics is also a wasted skill along the lines of the armor skill. One's agility should affect your character's speed, not an athletics skill. I think I'll start a poll, if I can figure out how to do it!

Its a good way to represent fitness. I know that my pack is much lighter on the last day of a week hike than the first day.

I dont know if my agility increased but my fitness sure did.

I'm for armor skill, but not just in a way that it will serve as a prereq for some armors (no matter how lame you are, you can hop into any armor and run about, tested on myself, and I'm not exactly a hercules ), but so it will allow you to move faster in it, and add to actual armor too - meaning you'll learn to utilize it to the best effect, positioning your body so blows will slide off from it, and moving in a way that only the most protected part of the body will be possibly open for an attack.
Armor skill as a prereq for wearing armor sucks and mustdie.

strength has been made a requirement for wearing the heavier armor types. maybe the requirement should be made higher than it is now: that's another question. but i like the current system.
