Right to Rule

I can't seem to send my companions on a mission to gain me right to rule. Do I need my own kingdom or settlement before I can do that?

Alt Clut only have 300 men left under their 7 lords, so I'm really tempted to sweep the rug under their feet, but I fear I would have to spend agonizing amount of time defending it from other factions nearby.

The second option for me would be to take an island kingdom like Laithlind, which only have 2 islands left off the north and western coast of Scotland.

Thanks  and I have about 6 enterprises to keep me funded should a long war come to fruit.

you can only send a companion once for this quest.

They were about to turn that option off for storymode as well (it can break the quests). Are you playing sandbox?

TLDR: dont do it for storymode. You can only do it once per companion.

Awww, man really? I'm playing story mode, and I can't send any of my companions, even the ones like Caio who has nothing to do with the main quest.

For the developers; I really do hope there is a warning in the starting options telling the player that "story mode is not meant to gain right to rule and create a faction". I've spent a helluvalot of time, and it feels like a waste if I can't even establish my own kingdom.

Now I'm questioning if Right to Rule is even needed to have a stable kingdom in the first place.

I just tried it in sandbox mode, and sending your companions away seem to gain function like normally. This ******** blows...

at the end of story mode it swaps to sandbox mode now, so can't you just do it then?

This.

In storymode you follow the story. Kind of a linear game with some degree of freedom.

After the main story is done you revert back to sandbox mode and you can do whatever

Btw there are other ways to gain right to rule.

Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me.

I gain right to rule by getting Letters of Recognition, Marrying, Recruiting Lords and Making Peace ( even as a mercenary ). Non of which are very easy to get, with out Spreading the Word.

When i send my companions to gain the right to rule it always say i loose the right to rule, is that just a bug and i actually get the RtR?

Same, when my faction made peace i lost right to rule according to the log

When I got a letter from another monarch saying that he recognized me as sovereign, I lost RtR too. (according to the log, I can't find where to check RtR)
