Riding Skill and Mounting

The higher your riding skill, the faster you should be able to mount your horse. Considering that the gymnastic sport of pommel horse arose from the medieval training of knights how to quickly mount, I don't think it would be that unrealistic.

I suppose it makes sense...but wouldn't your ability to mount a horse be more related to athletics? Either way, you can start moving your horse while the "mount" animation is taking place...so there really is no delay at all.

I personally feel that DISmounting can be a little, if not a lot faster. The thing which especially doesnt make sense, is the fact you have to stop before dismounting, rather than the ability to jump of at most of the times. Ok would be difficult with full plate, I admit, but if encumberance is added and tweaked against the speed + agility - weight etc. I'm sure it would make more sense for people to be able to jump off their horses a lot faster..
