Summary:In the recent 1.8.0 update, the game now have a new mechanism which make every hero party in the game world have a preferred troop types when upgrading. The new mechanism seems make every party looks different. but, it has some serious issue: the preference is too extreme. for example, if a lord prefer archers and he has 30 empire recurits, you will find he upgrade 25 of them into empire archers, that makes many ridiculous parties, like too much archers, no infantry, too much two handed weapon, no shields etc. Is this a bug or something?
I thought the developers should do some adjustments or fixes to make the system more reasonable.
How to Reproduce:just start a campaign and let the game run for a year, then have a look on AI parties.
Have you used cheats and if so which:not important

ok, I upload an open ticket, for some reason I don't have a save without any mod for now, but the save I upload only use a mod with xmls, which doesn't affect the more "deep" function of the game.
ps: I don't want to be harsh, but please take it seriously, though this issue is not a very obvious one and it not cause any crash, but it's an important one and should be dealt with as soon as possible, don't let a new mechanism with good potential ruin the game.

Hey, we can not offer support for the modded games. Can you reproduce the issue on a new campaign after manually removing the mod files and verifying the integrity of the game files? If so, please upload that unmodded save file to the ticket and let me know.

Ok, I uploaded a new .rar file into the ticket I create for this case, which include a new unmodded save I created after verifying the integrity of the game files. Also there are 4 screenshots, I named those screenshots by what I thought is strange. Sorry for the inconvenience to you.

Hey! After forwarding the issue to the design team, i have been informed that this was the newly introduced design and it is intended. The AI lords will now favor one random troop tree while upgrading their troops.

I know it's intended, but the current state of this design is unreasonable, just like what I Said, it made lord parties unreasonable. they become too easy or too hard to fight, and severly downgraded the battle experience, make it very boring, for example, if a lord prefer two handed troops, then his(her) party will be a easy prey for archers, and everytime I fight this lord, I can just send some archers and then get a easy victory. if a lord prefer shielded troops, the party will be a living meat grinder, and archers in player team will be useless.

in my opinion, a better version of this design is there will be more favored troop in a Lord's party, but not 100% of the party's recruit will be upgrade intofavored troop.
For example, if a lord favor "empire legionary" then 50% of the "empire recruit" in this Lord's party will only pick upgrade path toward "empire legionary". and rest of the "empire recruit " will randomly choose upgrade target just like before.

anyway, glad to know it's not a bug. thanks. And please, tell the developers they can and should polish this design, this design has a good potential, but now it just downgrade the battle experience.

The other day I ran into an "empire" army of some 500+ archers... rest was mostly cav and a few infantry troops. Vlandians though, I encountered armies of theirs skewed in the other direction with majority of cav sprinkled with xbows.. If you know what you end up fighting you can sort of adjust to it,

yes, I can adjust to it and it do has offered some diversity in each battle, but that doesn't mean the current state is reasonable, and doesn't mean the developer shouldn't polish and balance it. just like most aspect of this game.
