Rhodok advantage

Users who are viewing this thread

Hey guys,

I recently started recruiting some rhodoks. Now I got an army of 50 men, 25 sharpshooters and 25 sergeants. I was wondering against what faction I have the biggest advantage now. Since I don't join a faction I'll have to do everything alone so I need a big advantage. So... Who would you guys fight?

Thanks in advance.

They pretty much do fairly well against anyone when used correctly. They can't slice through Nords as easily as the Swadians or any other lopsided battle.

Yeah, I was allready doubting between the Vaegirs, Swadians and Khergit.

If you have the best infantry below sergeants, and a few sergeants here and there with a scattering of crossbowmen, then form up tight, use the crossbowmen to form a second line behind you infantry and you should fare pretty well agaisnt the Khergits. Just make sure to user hills when you can and to stand ground and hold togather.

Then go for Vaegirs, they're not so tough as swadians and you definitely don't want to start on khergits

I found the Rhodoks pretty efficient versus the khergits... They have big shields to hold of those rain of arrows and your sharpshooters can return fire just as well. The nord would be hard due to their shields and superior melee power. So I'd say the hardest would be Nord, Swadia/Vaegirs, Khergits.

BTW, I would improve your sharpshooter/sergeant ratio, the more you kill at range the better and your sharpshooters are pretty decent fighters on their own.

Still not sure whether to go to war against the Khergits or the Vaegirs but I will increase my ammount of Sharpshooters I guess.

Of course. during sieges you can tell your Rhodok sharpshooters to stand outside the Nord's throwing projectile ranges and proceed to perforate them, this usually results in very low casualties on your side.

I have a company consisting entirely of Rhod Sharps. I can take on other all-infantry armies and steppe bandits without a problem. The only thing I really fear is heavy cavalry(vaegir/swadian knights). I think I can take even on Khergit lancers; the big problem against knights are the tank-like horses, which are almost impervious to projectiles, unlike the coursers of the khergits. Same goes for my company of Vaegir Marksmen.

Okay I just increased the ammount of sharpshooters, also I captured my first castle on this char, it's me against the vaegirs now. Filling up the castle with Sergeants and Sharpshooters now.

The AI doesn't take into account the quality of the troop you put in there when calculating which settlement you own you know. Filling it up with 500 peasants will deter the AI from attacking it as much as 500 Huscarls.

This is relevant to your position, unless of course you have only one settlement.

Knights are the way to beat khergit's. My first few encounters ended in me getting my ass kicked, but i built a couple of hundred swadian / vaegir knights whislst wiping the vaegirs from the face of the earth, and now i can take khergit's at a 2-1 disadvantage.

I did say I can beat Khergits with missile troops, I don`t need anyone telling me to use knights for the same purpose. And Khergits can beat knights a good part of the time. I don`t really get your point.

Yeah, I heard that it's only about numbers, but still I fill them up with more powerfull units cause it makes more sense, so it's purely for roleplay reasons. So expensive to rp... And yeah, I only have 1 at the moment. I will increase my ammount of troops and eventually capture a new one and fill it up immediately.
