Has anyone ever noticed that many Veteran Spearmen lack spears entirely?

Personally, it's annoying. I love fielding armies of massed infantry who bring to bear a veritable forest of steel points.

But once they become Veterans, they seem to prefer one-handed weapons and shields over spears.

Sad, really.

I never noticed myself actually.

I don't bother with Rhodoks in my mind there the blue coloured people in the corner of the map for me. 

I play swadians they have some good infantry, but a good mix of infantry and archers is nords man.
