That would make it impossible to kill clans off via player agency, don't you think? If a regent automatically spawns, that means it has to be triggered everytime a clan has no more adults in them.
Yes, probably that´s an issue to some players. But in my opinion children are clanmembers too. Clans should not die as long as they have living clanmembers. To kill a clan, you should need to execute the children too and have the option to do so. IRL, children has been both kings and emperers and everything below.

Yeah, aye but we wanna kill the clan. I just want something like a Black Douglas scenario where a guy was dispossesed and now wants his family's **** back via being willing to serve another lord. Makes it feel alive and compelling, especially if the companion has a different dialogue option. Also would be kinda cool if all the companion's family members who did become wanderers rejoin as one big clan.

to destroy a clan you should need to be a real *** and execute also their their children. It´s currently too cheep to destroy a clan.

I´d like some kind of claimant- feature too but that, real civil wars etc required personal relations instead of clan-relations we have today.

I would like something like Regencies and abdication, where incase it's the last adult familymember dies for AI and there are non-adult members in the clan, a regent companion is spawned. I mean, all famillies are having servant nobility who does see the opertunity to shine, don't they?
this would make perfect sense, especially if the family has property.

And it's not going to cause clans not to disappear, and I've seen clans disappear for lack of marriage ties.

Perhaps clans without adults and without lands should disappear, mainly if they are a poor family. That these children, or any of them, become possible adult companions would be an extra detail that would not be bad at all, with a nickname that refers to their past as well as a presentation "I'm Pedro, the others call me the lost one, it was a young nobleman of House Pethros before they fell from grace, etc, etc. ".
