Resting at the inns

We've all probably experienced this. You're waiting for the nobleman and you decide to give your toops a good nights sleep. but when your little bastards are asleep, the sneaky nobleman crawls through the gate. Mission Failed. What I had in mind is that you could sort of stop resting, wake up all your men, and go greet the little muppet. Before one of you sais 'but you're asleep, how would you know?', there are a million ways. Well, two atleast. Have one of your men guard the citys entrance with instructions to wake you all up when the enemy is sighted. Or you could bribe a kid to do it. Whatever. It should be possible.

...this is sort of tangentally related, and I apologise in advance, I haven't seen this idea in the time I've been lurking, but admittedly it hasn't been that long. Feel free to slap me down:
If you have lots of vaegir units and are staying at a swadian tavern, there could be a chance that your guys get in a fight and you're chased out of town, not fully rested or something. Also, rates at the tavern should be (quite a bit) higher. If you're allied with one or the other, the same could apply to merchants and hiring men, they wouldn't deal with you as nicely or something.

Oh, and one other idea that isn't even remotely related to the rest of it: Based on your prisoner management and charisma, maybe you could get the chance to change some of your prisoners into soldiers. It might cost some small amount, maybe not. I mean when faced with slave labour and so on... but then their morale would be very low, at least to begin with.
