[Resistance] Strength through Unity: The First Day

That doesn't mean much. He was last in Llandy's game as well, and look where that left the poor knights.

Again, Melter?

Hey, I don't remember him posit and these are the lat get times I will be able to hang out with some college friend before moving bak home until I get a nib, so you better expect me to be drink these next few nights

Ejnomad himself, flanked by his chosen compatriots Xardob and Phonemelter, set out by horse a league ahead of the main party, comprised of various warriors, zealots, squires and camp followers. Deftly avoiding the shadowy cabals erected by the Dark Masons of Taros, hordes of undead shamblers guided by demons and the burnt-out husks of once thriving villages, the heroic vanguard is able to ensure that the questing party never comes under any terrible danger.

Once the entire party had arrived at the garrison, however, it became apparent the party had been tracked by many of the lingering undead.

A few well-placed volleys of enchanted arrows and musket balls felled each twisted corpse, the undead's attack proving paltry with no demon at their head. The questing party was able to board their marine transports without incident. Even the garrison troops decide to join, bolstering the party's ranks, they may be abandoning their castle but their homes, farms and families were corrupted long ago. Joreth stands tall on the deck, exclaiming that this quick pace is a boon and that the party will surely retrieve the Heart of Thesh in time to save Aramon at this pace.

There were no signs of sabotage.

Huzzah!

Now to wait for my cards  :ohdear:

Can I talk whilst I wait? Has the leadership officially ticked over to me yet, or are we waiting to give everybody a fair chance at thoroughly chastising MaHuD for not sharing his toys with the other kids?

The mission will be announced in the morning, you will receive your cards at that time. Discussion is free until then.

Sorry for the delay, but my stuff is on my home computer and I figured it'd be better to give you the mission results now, even if I couldn't provide the next mission just yet.

Don't worry about the delay, all I need to know is that I won't get told off for talking before I can assign cards for my turn :b

After the successful journey to the coastal garrison, the questing party and its followers have boarded the marine transports, along with a small escort of Verunan skiffs. It is time to cross the sea to the sand-washed Kingdom of Veruna, where the party can gather reinforcements and push into the northern jungles of Zhon. The sea passage itself is rife with opportunity for disaster, however, so it is important that each of the four ships has a competent captain, chosen from among the bravest knights and assorted servants of Joreth.

Choose your captains and choose them wisely, for if the sea passage is delayed or misguided, the quest will be in dire jeopardy.

With Llandy as Team Leader, she must nominate a Mission Team of 4 Players. 1 Sabotage is required to Fail the mission. She has been PMed the 2 Plot Cards, which will be given to players in her first post (from now).

The cards will be dealt as follows:

The following card goes to my beloved ejnomad, may he use it wisely:
Interrogatory Inquisition - (Instant) (2 per game)
The player immediately chooses another player and learns the target's role privately.

The following card goes to Xardob the Confessor:
Teary-Eyed Confession - (Instant) (1 per game)
The player immediately chooses another player to reveal their role to privately.

I'll allow some time for ej/Xardob to use their cards and for anybody involved to report back if necessary.

Until then, I'll hear thoughts on the upcoming mission team from anybody who would care to give them.

Do we get to know who the chosen players have picked in their private correspondence?

Well, if we were playing the card game in person as defined by MaHuD's rules, there would have been some discussion about who the Leader gives the cards to (after the cards are made public) and the leader has the final say. Then presumably it is made obvious because the person chosen for the role reveal would have to be shown their alignment card by their target, and everyone would know who the card-holder had chosen for that.

Given that Aust has tweaked the rules slightly for forum play to allow no discussion of the cards before they're given, he might also keep the knowledge of who is chosen for an alignment reveal to be private. Personally I was giving my cards out on the assumption that they will publically state in this thread whom they want to see the alignment of, and then have the knowledge PM'd so that the rest of us know who was targeted but not the results of that target unless the card-holder should wish to share it.

If we play this right, and I've made the correct selection of people to give my cards to (hoping they will know whom to target/reveal to) then we could have this game won by the next turn (in the best case scenario).

But I'm not sure if I'm allowed to prompt ej/Xardob about who I wanted them to scan/reveal to, so I'm not going to speculate further on that.

@Hostupaio

Am I allowed to prompt ej/Xardob about who I wanted them to use the cards on, or am I only allowed to speak about what my plans were after ej/Xardob have already used their cards?

Hm, I guess this a new thing that hasn't been covered, oh well. Yes, the players who got their cards will announce the player of their choice in a post, and I will handle the PMs containing the information.

I see no issue with you discussing the cards and their usage now that they have been given out, Llandy.

Excellent. Well, my masterplan is as follows:

Based on the fact that the first mission was not sabotaged, there is a small chance all three participants are the good guys. What I hoped would happen was that ejnomad would use his card to determine Melter's alignment, and confirm if he's innocent. And Xardob would choose me to reveal his alignment too, so that if he is also innocent then I can re-suggest him for the team.

If I get an innocent from Xardob, and ejnomad reports back that Melter is also innocent, then my plan is to add myself to the mission team as the 4th member. The bad guys can't afford to let the second mission pass, because the next mission needs no additional team member. If there's a bad guy in my suggested team, they will pretty much have to sabotage otherwise the game is tipping towards the innocents. If there is no sabotage this time, then in theory all Twinkle has to do next time is re-elect the same 4 team members for a good guy win.

Naturally this doesn't work if one or more of the last team were bad guys biding their time, but by the next round Twinkle will have more cards to hand out, which might reveal more info.

Funny, that is exactly what I thought your plan was.
I hope that xardob doesn't reveal himself to you.

As a side note; I rejected the mission because I don't think Nomad made it quite as random as he said he did. Though it doesn't really matter.

My top suspects so far are Llandy, Nomad and Twinkle.

Why do you think that?

Man, you are a horrible spy. How could it be anything but random? Last I checked neither the spies nor the heroes know who anybody else is. How could I pick based on any kind of secret knowledge when everyone would just be faces in a crowd no matter what my role.

Fact is you are a very bad spy much like your poor play when you got the knife in Werewolf.

@Llandy

Thank you kindly for the gift my dear. Much better than a tea set!

I would be quite happy with your plan if Xardob is in agreement, otherwise the next option might just be checking Xardob to confirm we can trust whatever he says or vice-versa.

Damn, I wish my card allowed me to check someone role as well. That way me and Ej could check each other. It would have been perfect.

I really don't like my card. I don't want any of you to know I'm innocent. Where's the fun in that?

I'm fine with Llandy's plan, but I want to see if anyone has any alternative before committing.

MaHuD, would you rather have me reveal myself to you?

I would not have minded that card, which makes me half wonder why you do.

After I revealed if they didn't suggest me for a every team would tell me a lot about them. So I guess the fun would be your automatically have one person who should always support you unless you are a bad bad man Xardob.  :ohdear:
