Rescue mission

i am trying hard to improve relations with one of the other lords and i just got a mission to rescue his brother from an enemy territory but i cannot complete it 
after clearing everything (very hard!) and going back into the prison with the key, i choose for the prisoner to follow me and avoid battle but then he never leaves his initial spawn and attacks me if i am getting close 
i tried clearing all the guards (searched every street) nothing, tried to leave or injure him and he left behind...  wth am i doing wrong?

Playing a bugged mission, that's what. The. Hell.

its not listed in the BUG LIST i read on this board, anyway to fix it? or cheat (there was a mention of cheat mode in an other post)
i worked hard for this one and losing the relations boost and on top of it getting a penalized for failing it will be very disappointing...

It's not in the bug list because I'm not sure whether it's a TEATRC or a native issue. Also, I'm not going to cobble together a new list before somebody releases his latest concoction.
And besides; sometimes, you know, despite having been granted the magical powers of SAVE!-RELOAD!, losing happens. But you already knew that, of course, and you're man enough to deal with it.

Though losing doesn't happen to me, obviously. I'm perfect!

It should be a native issue - I'll look into testing it out and fixing it.

losing does happens (especially to the excessive looters firing squads ambushes, that this mod features way too frequently, wouldnt it be wise to at least give me 'the general' few body guards or make that i have chance to fight them off instead of the death in 2sec)
but at least i lose "fairly", knowing there was nothing i could do to win but loosing due to a bug after wasting most of my game raising the relation with this specific lord and wasting about an hour being mowed by the guards trying to figure out how to finish this quest finding out its a bug its just disappointing and kinda screws my game.

so i would really appreciate for help on how to finish this quest either by exploiting, cheating, savegame editing, editing tools  etc , thanks.


EDIT:
nm, i found a solution, in game go to:

camp->game options->Enable cheat mode
initiate dialogue with the lord->take action->like me

unfortunately it gives me 20points which is probably 2.5 times more than i need to make things right after i'll fail the quest, so i'll try to screw up some to balance it up, to put my game back on track, btw great mod i am having a lot of fun

I'll see what I can do about the body guards. I have already reduced the frequency with which "firing squads" occur - it was based too steeply on your level and progress within the game. Maybe I'll add a game option to eliminate it altogether.
