Replacement of the Stabbing Slash

It has been my disappointment, that in the heat of battle I move the mouse downwards to view my troops, and I left click, and I wind up to find that my strike missed, and missed and missed again. 
However I thought that a physical based attack, (presumably with a shield or free arm) which has a 60% of knockdown would be a much better alternative solution in the midst of a battle.

You do realize Piercing damage is better at penetrating armor?

how can you miss a stab? o.o

i mean it basically has just as much chance of hitting someone as using a arrow. (since there both so small)
deleting stab would eliminate spears and have great influence on factions such as the rodoks, khergits and swadians.

You can miss a stab if you thought it would be a slash and step in or rotate partly for additional damage
