Renown increase morale?

First of all, sorry if this has already been posted, tried searching, but found nothing similar.

If I were a soldier I would really like to fight for a guy who was known to the whole world! You could come home and tell everyone that you served under [insert name] right?

So, if you have a high renown it should help your morale a bit.

Not a lot, say renown divided by 250? So if you have 3000 renown you get a +12 morale boost..? It makes it a bit easier to field large armies in the late game.

that's a good idea. and if you think about it its weird that recruits from villagers only want to join you if your relationship with the village is high i think it would also be affected by renown.
Peasant: He/She is a famous mercenary/lord! I will get rich and explore the world with him.
it should be appealing to recruits.

I agree. It would help a lot to recruit and deploy more men + keeping them in your party (less desertion etc.)

I was suspecting 10 GM Knights telling me to use the search function.. Looks like my use of the search function was correct afterall : )

About the renown - recruiting... If you have personally raided a village a ton of times, got -100 with them, I don't think anyone from that village would ever join you even if you were Chuck Norris (And he has a LOT of real life renown..)

But yes, if you had -5 with a village and like 2500 renown, you should indeed be able to get a few recruits.

On the renown - recruit subject, you should really make a new thread about it, or check if some other thread already have it.

After all, the board rules tells you to only have 1 suggestion in your thread, so lets not discuss the renown - recruit much more.

Also, do you think the divider/multiplier, call it whatever you like, is balanced..?

Perhaps it should be divided more.. But I mean.. If you have Meat, bread, fish, fruit, butter, cabbage, and all other food apart from honey, you still get an additional boost of 10 morale just to buy a jar of honey.. So if they get that ecstatic to get some sweets they should be equally happy to know that their lord is a reliable commander who knows how to fight a battle without heavy losses, and is also very able to earn enough money to feed you and pay your wage. I'd feel more secure, and thereby have a higher morale.

Renown giving morale? That's a great idea. I agree with you when you say that troops should enjoy fighting with a well known leader.
