Women aren't weaker than men
Don't care about the rest, but are we REALLY going to pretend human sexual dimorphism is somehow pseudoscience because it doesn't conform to modern PC standards? That is a weak claim at best.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_dimorphism#Humans
The average basal metabolic rate is about 6 percent higher in adolescent males than females and increases to about 10 percent higher after puberty. Females tend to convert more food into fat, while males convert more into muscle and expendable circulating energy reserves. Aggregated data of absolute strength indicates that females have, on average, 40–60% the upper body strength of males, and 70–75% the lower body strength.

I didn't say "human sexual dimorphism is somehow pseudoscience because it doesn't conform to modern PC standards", I said women aren't weaker than men.
Are you unable to string the meaning of a few words together? Do you live in a dream world? I'll quote again, maybe you are able to read this time. Even shorter and more to the point.

In fairness, you did call him a scrub earlier in the discussion. I would have been far less civil with you after that.

Not the same person, that other person had insulted me prior and that's not exactly a testament to your good character

I never said I had good character, and you're now attacking me, which says a lot about you doesn't it.

Can you at least attempt to be civil?
Nice deflection. That has nothing to do with the fact you are spouting misinformation and that you dodge every attempt of telling you otherwise. You can't claim to be aware of sexual dimorphism, then claim men and women are just as strong, then ignore scientific data that tells that women are 50% weaker physically than men on average.

What disinformation? The extremely scientific and peer-reviewed "women aren't weaker than men"? There are - confirmed - female warrior graves in Denmark, get over yourself. If you think strength is just gendered grip strength you have an appalling view of human beings and leadership. Not to mention treating genders as generalisations - Rhagaea seems a bit small to lead a charge of cataphracts (though anyone with arms can couch a lance and brace for impact) but someone like Brienne of Tarth is far stronger than you could ever be

It was an impersonal you (so his character in fact), unlike yours I imagine.... Thanks for that

See, you can't go more than a minute without hurling the mud around. But do continue, it's doing wonders for your credibility as a new poster.

In my feeble attempt to get this thread back on topic, and away from the unfortunately contentious issue of sexual dimorphism...

As this is a fantasy world, no, there shouldn't be any direct reference to our world's political/historical affairs in any way. If anything, this feels kind of sloppy on the part of TW writers, since they could've simply replaced terms with their own in-universe ones, as Princeps Senatus said earlier. Hopefully these are simply placeholders as they get through the EA process, and they can flesh things out as we go along.

Try arm wrestling any dude on the street. Men have on average 12kg of muscle more. Do you think all of those are in the forearms? And Brienne is a FICTIONAL character

Women are absolutely weaker than men and anyone with eyes can see this. Just because there are some women that are stronger than some men doesn't prove anything. Any average guy is stronger than the vast majority of women. I am talking about the strength that comes with fighting, holding heavy objects and bashing people.

I suggest everyone drops the "women in game" stuff immediately. We're talking about a fictional game in a fictional world where any parallel to the real world is not of importance whatsoever.
If you want to bring in history, restrict yourself to in game lore, where it has been stated in every single installment of the franchise that there are women leading men into battle in Calradia.

Revert back to actual historic references in game and have a civilised debate about it or cease posting immediately.

Ignoring the side track discussion,

when you say 'all' real world references, i think thats a bit silly. We should remove modern English, swords, spears, walls, humans under that logic. It is clear from the game they are using a Roman era aesthetic to the game and substituting a fake history in place of the real one while moving all these parts into a fantasy (made up) world. What is likely that these real references you are finding are places where they have not completed the substitution. It is certainly easier to develop a parallel world and tweak it to your needs than it is to develop a completely new universe.

I do agree that they need to clean up references to 'historical' figures that should not exist in this setting, but as far as more macro parts that are clearly borrowed from that time period, no its absolutely fine to leave it in.

Talking about that is entirely within the game's lore, as Warband depicted men and women in medieval society exactly as they were depicted in our world.
