Remapping the shield to the mouse whell doesn't work

I decided to put the shild to the mouse wheel. The command was accepted, but... simply didn't work.

I am starting ti get angry over those 0.700 version! I tried to remap the shield to Tab key. It was accepted and didn't work at all again. So no comfortable way to switch to the shield.

Relax! Every new update/patch will have bugs and glitches in them ... and this update was huge!

I know - and that's why I put there something I already put in the suggestions forum:
I would like to be able to use ONLY shield in the battle - without melee weapons. So I will be able to carry 2 quivers... errr.... bags of arrows and to switch quickly to a shield when I see 2-3 enemies at once start to target me.

dude just re-map the next weapon to e and the next shield to r... it really is good if you are using the A,W,S,D its really helpful

I know, but Ijust pointed this as a bug - "legal" keys are accepted, but don't work.
But the other thing - if I use ONLY shield - this never work. I don't know if this is a bug or just nno one thought about it. That's why I put it here and in the suggestion forum.
