Relations As Ministers

Greetings,

I was reading through the forums looking at ministers and their import. I understand that male characters can appoint their wives as a minister, however, female characters cannot appoint their husband as a minister, which is respectable and understandable. I found it odd that a female character would have to sacrifice one of her companions so she can have a minister once she founders her kingdom. Of course I understand that gameplay for females is a little more difficult, however, I've come up with a possible solution.

When you marry, you gain new family members. I was thinking that maybe to prevent female characters from having to sacrifice a companion, they could appoint female relatives as their minister, whether it be a mother-in-law or a sister-in-law. There could be requirements, for example, you could need 20 relation with the female relative to suggest they be your minister -- and at least one relative (namely daddykins, as the father of a family was the foundation of a family in medieval times) would have to be part of your kingdom as your vassal.

As marriage for females is a little pointless, this could create more of a reason for a female character to marry. I've noticed that as a female character, noble ladies seem less inclined to offer you missions and tasks to gain their favor, this would need to be looked at as well -- though I'm not 100% certain that this is the case.

Let me know what you think, and thank you for taking the time to read my idea.
