Relation changes about attacking wandering villagers and caravans.

I don't understand that when you loot and burn a village, you just lose relations with its assigned lord and the village itself.

When I attack villagers or caravans wandering on the map, I lose relations with the whole kingdom. It doesn't seem consistent.

Now that I think about it, why am I even losing relations with anybody? It's not like anyone is going to make it out alive (except the wounded), so that doesn't leave a lot of witnesses to report back to the king or lord.
