Hraefen was a cool fellow. Harsh, nationalistic to the point of irritation, but cool.

Do I want him back? Hell no.

What would that say of our forum, then? That our most valued members can cheerfully break the rules, get a slap on the wrist, and then come back while the newbies are banned for toeing the line?

This sort of thing was one of the biggest reasons why Colt and, especially, Tegan were so adamant about making Pavlov leave, IIRC. Just because someone's a senior member doesn't mean that they should be let off the hook for blatantly breaking the rules. If anything, they should know better

I do sorta miss that guy, he was quite funny after all. But there was a reason he was banned.


I have seen permabanned people come back though. After, like, half a year and a lot of apologising, people such as Juno and Tehgherkin have managed to come back. I think Naridill was permabanned once, but came back after a couple of months.

Naridill wasn't permabanned. He was temp banned ang went all emo after that, then he started to post again.

edit: and what Juno and TehGherkin did after allowed to return is another reason why permabanned people shouldn't be allowed.

Anyone is free to appeal for a second, third or five hundredth chance as per the procedure set out in the rules. No guarantees though.

It also is dependent on Admin consensus, so if you've pissed one of us off enough to say no you can say goodbye to your chances.

AFAIK Juno, jglx, TehGherkin, Bryce777, Forge and CheopisIV have successfully repealed a perma-ban. A few people have had temp bans reduced or lifted.

Oh, and Ingo, I wouldn't argue with someone who can see the ban list

Juno WAS allowed. He went back to
exactly the crap that got him a permaban
before. I was in favor of reinstating him
as well. Khan, maybe. But I thought
he drew his permaban for repeated
racism.

My impression, is that Hraefen was always
close to pulling a ban. He went over the
line again, got a heavier ban - probably was
already drunk at that moment, and did something
damned stupid. Hell, his two weeks probably aren't
even up yet.

Yeah, pretty much. But, I'm not the only one
who found him funny as hell. I disagreed with
him on a hell of a lot, but he added something
to the OT that is sorely lacking.
