Recruiting Lords without the claimant quest

Is there a way to recruit Lords without the claimant quest? I've heard people say they have done it before, and I am almost certain I saw a tweak for it in MageLord's thread, but before I could look at it my computer overheated and shut down on me, I went back to the thread, and try as I might could not find it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
