Recruit
I looked for this bug last night and didn't see anything except for a comment or two on some snowball-related reddit threads. I had already made up my mind that I was going to post a bug report about this, and then right before posting, I found this mentioned in Captain Akbar's new list of bugs here https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...s-issues-not-prioritized-in-any-order.410126/

EDIT: This was also mentioned today here, but the comments on that thread assume it's because of a -100 relation. I have seen this happen with lords that had >25 relation. https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...m-he-left-5-min-after-i-dont-know-why.409651/

I felt that the severity of this issue needed a separate thread, despite rule #3.

Summary: When recruiting lords, they all leave within a few game days and provide no reason.
How to Reproduce
: Create custom kingdom. Recruit another vassal. Vassal then brings in their own fiefs and vassal has positive relations with custom kingdom king but still leaves within a few days.

I've observed lords leave literally seconds (in real-time) after accepting a persuasion check to join my kingdom. In my game, the lords are all leaving to the empire I am at war with, despite that empire being heavily outnumbered and close to death.

For that reason, I think there's actually a related or possibly the same bug that leads to the first.

Summary: As a faction approaches death (<= 2 non-destroyed clans), the faction instantly recruits new lords despite being outnumbered / at war with everyone / all of their clans being executed / etc.
How to Reproduce
: Execute nobles of a faction until the faction is on the verge of defeat, then observe that new clans immediately join the faction. Sometimes the clans come from the player's kingdom, but they may join from other kingdoms too.

The 2nd bug feels too predictable. There is a faction that is nearly destroyed, hugely outnumbered, and it's soon-to-be-gone and then immediately a lord joins it. The moment I kill that lord's clan, another clan pops up. It's like pushing down a spring. The more I push, the more it resists. I've ended up killing half the nobles in the continent in a single war of attrition against an empire that is somehow recruiting every possible lord to the murderfest.

+1 on the lords leaving within a few game days. Lord left as soon as I disbanded army. No notification. Makes a comeback impossible vs snowballing factions.

I can confirm. Happened to me today when I created my kingdom. Recruited lords left days later, no reason specified. Also... aren't some lords supposed to join our kingdom by themselves too? I think this was a thing in Warband if I remember correctly.

It seems that, due to this mod not being updated, it's no longer available for download. Dcvd2005 can you update it? This is still a problem, I just lost a vassal that asked me 300k to join my kingdom.

I managed to download the compiled folder from GitHub and to install it. But it's not working anymore. Lords are still leaving me.

Thanks.

I took down the mod because I realized that it would likely not work in future builds and I didn't want to update it for each new build. The mod worked by adjusting a calculation that the AI uses to decide if it should swap sides. This calculation is performed both for AI lords in the player's faction and AI lords in AI factions, i.e. it would fix this other reported bug as well https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...why-sturgia-gets-wiped-out-too-easily.420425/.

Ultimately, I think this issue won't be resolved until Taleworlds fixes it or someone with more free time than me can invest themselves into maintaining a fix.

I have the same Problem with Patch 1.3. One Month later. But i guess balancing patches are more important then game breaking bugs.

Same. Just recruited a lord and literally about 8 seconds in real time, they left. Every lord ive successfully recruited, every single one, leaves within a maximum alot 2-3 in game days.
Side note- do mercenary lords regularly leave as well? Ive gotten a few crews to stick around for longer than 2-3 in game days but they all do eventually leave abruptly. Even with using the praise option in kingdom>clan>support via ingluence. I did that with the lord who instantly left me too because i obviously was trying to avoid it, spent about 300 influence to keep em, didnt do squat.

It is hard to say, but most of the mercenary groups I've employed so far left at one point or another - just not that apruptly, so I think it has to do with their contract running out.
On that note, though, I have a current issue with the "Wolfskins" which were a very important clan in my kingdom with one city and at least two castles as fiefs. They left out of the blue (though the timing was a random factor after loading the savegame - once it only took them two seconds after loading, once I could even take them into battle and win before they turned on me). The funny thing here is: They left my kingdom to become independent, left the fiefs behind in my possession, and on the next encounter with their leader I only had the choice to take them on as mercenaries. Although they were fully recognized as lords of my realm before!

mercenaries will always leave u right now. as there is an option to get them as vassal, maybe someday. but for now they stick to their behaviour and change factions after some time, regardless what u give them or how good your relation is.

Hunt them down and chop their heads off, that resolved the bug for me, permanently.
