recovering serial key from faulty hard drive

My hard drive crashed. I have a copy of testdisk and can recover files from the crashed disk. But I have lost my emailed serial key. And I don't know that I bought it from esellerrate (because I searched and found recovery processes on the boards here but it was for esellerate.com)

So my question is, does anyone know how to manually go into the hardrive and recover maybe a registry file or some system file in the folder where M&B is installed? I could then copy the file to my good hard drive and then open it up and get my serial key.

Please help.

Nevermijnd. I just found the email! It was not titled very well, I shall have to rename it.
