Luisrah

Sergeant
A/La Reconquista

This is to take place in the Iberic Peninsula between the years 1120 and 1143.
This will feature all of the kingdoms involved in that time:
Leon
Castilla
Condado Portucalense
Navarra
Aragon
Moors
And maybe more separations incase those are wrong, or further when I find more time to do them.

reconquista.jpg

It's the yellow part we're working on.

A map.

Basically what it'll have new is:
Factions (troops, lords, cities...)
Quests
Scenes
Items
Various tweaks
New music
Crusaders

I intend to make this as historically correct as my and my team's skills allow.
I plan to use OSP resources as much as I can and probably some other native compatible mods too such as the compilation of tweaks
Troops, after recruits, can either go to normal troops, or crusaders.

Team
Tercero
LavaLampMaster

For the scenes and items I will need modellers and etc...
So if anyone wants to lend a hand or simply give some ideas it would be great

Ooh, the Reconquista, when Spain "reconquered" itself from the Muslims.  I learned a little about this in school this semester.  I vote for it, it'd be cool to learn more about that event in history.

I like this as an idea, the thing is, there was a particulairly annoying forumite who had plans on making a reconquista mod...

Nice idea... btw Castile in spanish is Castilla and Aragon is spelled in spanish Aragón...
EDIT: BTW Luisrah are you portuguese, spanish or something similar... i'm only asking because the map in your post have its names on portuguese...
cheers.

Leave it as Aragon, python doesn't do too well with non-ASCII characters. (ð, ö, ø, ç, etc...)

Awesome Awesome Awesome just as i said:

Personally, I would go for an area much simpler and straight forward and target a specific war which happened. The Spanish Reconquista has not been done, thats mildly straight forward if you do then ending closer to the ...

kings and kingdoms (from spanish wikipedia) at this timeframe:

Navarra                  Reino de Aragon            Reino de Castilla          Reino de Leon        Reino de Asturias            Reino de Galicia            Reino de Portugal
        |                                |                                  |                                        \                |                          /                                        |
        |                                |                                  |                                          \              |                        /                                            |
        |                                |                                  |                                            \            |                    /                                              |
Sancho VI de Navarra        Alfonso II el Casto    Alfonso VIII de Castilla                          Fernando II de Leon                                    Alfonso Henriques (alfonso I el Grande)
                                                                            claimant
                                                                  Gutierre Fernández de Castro

Names are in spanish

Time frame (+/-1180)

edit: reconquista periods (we should think about the 1150 image):

Taifas kingdoms... Muslims weren't ruled by just 1 king, they were organised in many little kingdoms, they help themselves, but there were "civil wars" between them too...

this map is from 1031, but the name were the same all around the reconquista

Not make all of them, but maybe Badajoz Granada, Valencia, Cordoba, Murcia etc

very nice idea!! especially this idea, cause I love Spain and its history! I wish you good luck with the making...

Yes I am.

Well,

To reduce the number of factions will be difficult but some of them must show.

We will supress the factions that were ruled by the same king then
Navarra- Sancho VI de Navarra
Reino de Aragon - Alfonso II el Casto
Reino de Castilla - Alfonso VIII de Castilla
Reinos de Leon, Asturias y Galicia - Fernando II de Leon
Condado Portucalense - Dª. Teresa (Afonso Henriques will be the claimant)

I need information on if there were any claimants to these thrones, and I thought Leon and Castilla were together already making Leon y Castilla. Or was that later?

About the Moor kingdoms I'm thinking of all you said but why Murcia? I need to know it's importance since it will be a bit far from the main action (Reconquista)

As for the other kingdoms, we could still name them kingdoms and make kings, but they will be vassals to a greater king. So they will be in the same faction of a bigger one, but will have their city and title as king.

By this time, the kingdom of Leon and Castilla was splited in two in 1157 by Alfonso VII, he gave the kingdom of Castille to his first son, Sancho II.. he died in 1158 and gave it to his son Alfonso VIII... Fernando II was the second son of Alfonso VII and he got the kingdom of Leon

EDit: about the kings ruled by a "greater king"... well... I don't know if the AI will play correctly...

Nice, but, correct me if I´m wrong, you only got 2 different cultures: Spanish-like and Moorish. Perhaps you´d involve France and Genoa or some other Italian states too. (Besides, the Moors and the Spaniards were not so different: their cultures also had many things in common)

I don't think so, well atleast not for now as the mod is centered in the Reconquista.

We'll se as things go.

well... France won't have many importance by this time in the pennisula... and Genoa the same...

Maybe luisrah could add some French/crusaders mercenaries...

BTW occitania (south east France) was conquered by the king of Aragon...

Added an image of the map.

Porbably will have to change it as mountains may not be correct

Nice map, you should probably back up the boundaries to the North and East so that parties don't become 'stuck' on the egdes
