Recaptured fief no longer belongs to me?

So I'm a noble of Sweden, with my own fief (Berestye if anyone cares). Pretty sweet, huh? It was, until Sweden went to war with Crimea, and I was ordered to follow him. During this time, Berestye was captured by Crimea, and I went back and recaptured it as soon as I had the chance. Then it gave me the option to 'request the fief be awarded to me'. Weird, since it already belongs to me.

I figured I'd ask whether this is normal, or if the game is bugged again.

In the M&B series your ownership or right is lost when enemy conquers your settlement. If your country conquers a settlement, your king has the right to decide ownership no matter who conquered it. Combine these in your case.

Ah, thanks. I'm fairly new to the series, so there are some things I don't fully understand yet. Like how Gustaf refused to give me back my old fief, but now has given me Kyzykerman, a city sandwiched between our two enemies, the Cossacks and the Crimeans. Thanks, Carl!
