Rebellion: Original faction can't be defeated

Hello Everybody, I've seen many topics that look similar to mine, but the few I found that are actually related to my problem are both unanswered and very (a few years) old. Here's the problem:

I successfully rebelled against Sarranid Sultanate, and now they've been having no fiefs and no lords (the faction report as well as Arwa both say so) for a few in-game weeks now. I guess Sultan Hakim can't be one of these "ghost kings" I read so much about, since he's safely locked in my tower, and so was he at the two moments when I took his last fief and defeated his last lord (actually, his last lord was one of my prisoners.  I lost a battle on purpose in order to get him free. After he got free, he immediately defected and joined Sarranid Rebels). Yet I still haven't received the "Faction Eliminated" prompt, nor has my rebellion quest been completed.

In some parallel saves (yes, I use those ) I've both managed to:
1) release Sultan Hakim the same way I released his last lord: lose a battle to an enemy of Sarranid Rebels but friend of Sarranid Sultanate
2) accept an offer from Sarranid Sultanate to ransom Sultan Hakim
None of these attempts had an immediate effect.

Has any of you guys experienced the same thing? Did you find a solution to finish the quest? Or is my whole save screwed now? Thanks a lot for helping!

I forgot to specify, I'm playing on native without any mods.
I just found out as well that if I do let Sarranid Sultanate ransom Hakim, then he does turn into an invisible and therefore uncatchable "ghost king"...
Getting a little despaired about this. Is that playthrough screwed now? Is there any mod where this bug was fixed?

It's been a few days now, I must say I feel a bit disappointed. I was hoping for some sort of feedback, but I don't think I'll be getting an answer about this anymore.

Now, in case somebody is wondering: I gave up my "playthrough" and started a new one. What I will do from now on is always keep a save from the situation:
- before I start a rebellion or kingdom
- before a faction is close to be eliminated, but still has both territory and active lords
The idea being, if you get the bug once after killing a faction, you get another chance by loading the old save and eliminating the faction again? Could somebody please confirm this?

Hope someone will fix those nasty "faction not eliminated" some day... Some of those topics date back to 2010 but apparently, nothing could be done about it in the last 9 years.

Hey welcome to the forums!

If i recall correctly it's a rare bug that is difficult to reproduce. To my knowledge there isn't a way to fix it, but I'll point this thread to M.Arda (community support) so he can ask around

Hello!

Unfortunately, there is not anything we can do about those late game, game-breaking bugs happen when some rare conditions met. We are always recording bugs and glitches for a future patch but at this point, we are not planning a patch or update for Warband. Most of our development team members are working hard on Bannerlord. and we don't want to allocate resources out of that.

I am sorry to not being able to help you with this case.

There were some workarounds with using external save file editor programs. You might look into them for a quick fix with some tinkering.

Well, thanks a lot to both of you! Rest assured, milord, that I will grant Count Delinard a juicy fief for this

M.Arda, I understand your point. I will sure have a look at those workarounds! Nonetheless, I think the answers to the following questions could still help me in my next try:
1) Do you know more about the rare conditions that provoke this bug?
2) Will prior saves of the same playthrough also be affected, or can a reload avoid the problem?

Edit: Couldn't find those save editors you mentioned... Do you have any link or any name?
