I was playing Mount & Blade: Warband and saw that weather doesn't made much influence in the game. And there were not much type of weather in the game. Raining looked like some thin plastic tubes falling from the sky. So... I thought that it would be good if realistic weather is implemented in the game. Some points:

1. Direction of wind changes from time to time. And this affects the direction of ranged weapons. A wind indicator should be made.

2. When it is raining, the horses would slip when riding fast.

3. Raining direction would change from time to time.

4. Clouds would move, as they move in reality.

I thought this would make the game more realistic, so I made this topic. If you don't agree with me, please do not make a fun of this topic.

(edit):

How about:

1. You are roaming in a city and suddenly clouds become black, and after some time it starts raining.

2. You are playing a battle, and it is heavily raining. After some times rain begins to fade, and after some more time you can see clear sun.

(edit 2):

How about a Lightning Flash that will occur suddenly in the sky, usually when it is heavily raining or a storm is there?

(edit 3):

I also suggest that the rain should occur only in June, July and August.

1. Yes. ( wind indicator should be optional though)

2. Do horses slip in rain?

3. Hmmm well unless the rain became an actual animation of objects seems hard at the minute

4. The elder scrolls IV Oblivion had a neat way of doing this there were two sky boxs. One was like mount and blades skyboxs and the second appeared to be lower and had an animation - generaly it was transparent.

Yes, horses slip in rain. Once my horse-riding teacher was riding a horse in rain, and the horse slipped, and the horse's eye got pierced by a long nail.
awww poor horse.... what happened to the teacher?
The teacher wasn't much hurt, but he was thrown off the riding field. And he got a cut in his face.

Yeah it would be epic to have you're troops hold a position while it's stormy while you're on you're horse while the ennemy Cavlaruy charge at you're infantry and you're infantry start to charge as the cavlary gets near it would be really epic.

I'm with a No on this one- How often do your battles usually last? never over 15 minutes for me, and even thats rare- so how often would it really change weather during a 15 minute confronataion

Maybe whilst raining Horses would slip but also you couldn't stop your horse as easily, also the sun should glare into your eyes and reflect off armor into you.

Battles don't last for much time, but when you roam in cities and villages, It can last as much as you want.

Yes, this is a good idea. Horses would be difficult to stop in rain. And sunshine must be made very sharp.

Just give it a percentage chance to go from cloudy/stormy to sunny after 5/10 minutes of battle. That would depend of course on how bad the storm was, sometimes it might make more sense for the stormy/sunny weather to last the duration of the battle.

I think there should be a weather system on the campaign map, so that we can see if there are clouds and thunder storms forming, and rain could be depicted as well. It would fit well in M&B/Warband, since the days pass slow enough for it to make sense timewise.

Priyon, a lightning flash would look excellent as well. I would hope to see some of these ideas in a future M&B game.

Thank you!

I hope these ideas will catch fancy of some modders or even sir Armagan. This would make weather have some influence in the game.
Can you give me any more ideas or suggestions?
