One thing I really appreciated about the finale is that Rye was assassinated over implementing conscription, while Reagan went on to keep governing despite doing the same. That's largely because Reagan refused to evacuate the capital when it was in danger of falling, instead taking up a rifle and standing with his men. We held the belief that if you're going to risk doing something as unAmerican as a draft, you'd better be willing to stand your ground and die a martyr if the front line comes to your doorstep.
