Ravagers or Sharpshooters?

I the end I want Snipers, but I'm not sure what to get on the one step before that - Ravagers or Sharpshooters? On paper the Sharpshooter looks more appealing, but I've seen Ravagers in action and they shoot very quickly, which might be a better deal than the Sharpshooter.

What do you guys think?

In most situations I prefer my archers to shoot more slowly, provided they have good enough accuracy, because it will take them longer to run out of ammo.

It depends on your army composition and how you use your ranged units. I actually find the quick shooting ranged troops the best since for me any unit die before running out of arrows/bolts due to the mod's boost to ammunition.

Ravagers tend to struggle against elite troops (due to the higher armor), so it mostly depends on what you've got to face. Ravagers are definitely better against swarms of weak troops.

I try to have a mix of 2/1 sniper/sharpshooter to ravager/arbalister ratio. In most situations,  I find sharpshooters more productive. When I go after a barbarian army or a stack of bandit king followers, ravagers massacre.
