Rare items

I think I've gotten a rare item before in native but i cant remember properly so id like to know if i'm just being just being stupid or if there actually are rare items. If there are rare items can someone tell me how to get them

I'm not sure what you mean by a rare item? The are various degrees of quality to weapons, such as chipped or battered and in the other end of the scale there are balanced and masterwork etc. Never saw anything labeled as rare.

There are a few 'strange' items which make a set of Samurai armor and weaponry hidden in chests throughout Calradia, if that's what you were thinking of.

Well i think the item i got was a katana but I've never gotten it again so i don't know if i was imagining it also i think there was a cornucopia

The Strange Item samurai set is:

Helmet
Armor
Short sword (Wakisashi)
One/Two Hander (Katana)
Great Sword (big-ass katana, maybe Tachi or Nodachi)

(don't remember the actual names of the items)

Well i guess that that then but what did you mean by scattered across caldria do you mean the chests in peoples castles

There are 3 hidden chests, one in Tihr, one in Rivacheg and one in Jelkala, which each holds pieces of strange items.

How about mods that add rare or special/custom items to the single player game? (not ridiculous cheater items)

hmm... actually i'd like to see a few rare items in game-  not just masterwork, but actual named blades,  perhaps with a little bit of history/folklore to them.
not asking for any excaliburs or enchanted blades, or even partictularly powerful weapons. just something that stands out.

There are some "odd" pieces of armor. I'd actually prefer some stylized weapons, at least when going along with greater modifiers. Perhaps a Masterwork blade will be highly stylized, a Tempered blade as less stylized but perhaps more durable looking (larger or wider hand guard), and a Balanced weapon with a different style handle or different style hand guard.

Otherwise, rusty blades SHOULD look rusty, chipped should look like there are a few random divets.

Those exist in the Eagle and the Radiant Cross mod.

I'm surprised a mod like this doesn't already exist or there aren't randomly unique items in the game already.

I've always thought that, too. I was disappointed when I put on a regular sword, then swapped it with a masterwork and they looked the same.

I'm not looking for just cool looking loot, but randomly generated unique items with some customs stats.... or a chance to find items from long gone cultures or something like that, that would make sense within the time period.  I am not suggesting putting in spicific "epic loot" that everyone would spend their time "questing" for.  I'm talking more spontaneous and random finds of weapons, armor, goods and horses.

What I'd like to see is a bit more artwork than a standard 1 mesh and 1-2 textures for an armor. Having, for example, engraved designs in armor. Having different color underjackets. Having fancy doodads and different belts and slight weight differences. Having slight damage differences (tenths of a point) and reach or speed differences, or different wield styles. Sorry, but a Sword of War didn't always weigh 9lb--some weighed more, some less, and each was tailored for the soldier using them. I realize it'd be rather difficult et cetera, but I think it could be worthwhile. A Sword of War was often yielded more like a short staff--one hand on the hilt, one hand on a dulled section of the blade. Some were straight blades, some were wavy blades, but all were long weapons.

the blood and steel mod has some "fantasy"-esque wepaons and armor, but there are no modifiers in that game (cracked, lordly ect)

the way mount and blade items work, is they have a fixed name, model, and stats, and have set possible modifiers (cracked/reinforced/masterwork)

it would be a huge pain in the ass modeling job to have every weapon have a special model for each modifier.

there is a rusty sword model and item though.

All I know is that randomized, tier based items add a lot to a game.

Think back to diablo, or with the newer borderlands.  People grind loot like crazy.

Although, I'm starting to suspect that a masterwork long arming sword is the most hard to find iterm.

I while ago, I ran into a Masterwork Nordic Short War Sword - I've never seen that in M&B or Warband before, let alone a Masterwork one. I just had to have it!
